Yes, a lot of people go through life depending on their own strength, their own strategies, their own resources. That's laudable, but is such a great burden to carry - sickness, the termites, and the robber finally strike them down.
My question is: what can the USA do to make terrorism easier to put together by our enemies? By gradually sponsoring the homosxual viewpoint, how do we look in the Muslim world? Are we making it easier for terrorists to recruit suicide bombers? Another example: the Kamikaze Japanese suicidal pilots, together with the element of surprise. This is how the USA has been attacked successfully...
Clearly God was on the GIANTS side. The Patriots came from a state that perverted the very definition of marriage to include sodomites. When they made their circle and prayed in the locker room, God was LISTENING.
So...supporting gay rights = aiding terrorists and kamikaze bombers from Japan? Lol
You should have had blankenhorn bring that up in the prop 8 trial. I'm sure it would have been helpful!
At least now I can go to work in a good mood, lol. Very entertaining!
good job mr tyree.stand your ground.your a beautiful man=)
Blah, Blah, Blah.......who is this guy? and why does his opinion matter? So are all the gay people suppose to just kill themselves? Is that what they are to do?
It is good to see some football players that don't fit the typical dumb jock mold and actually have a good head on their shoulders.
Nice
"who is this guy? and why does his opinion matter?"
So, Mathaniel, I guess you think Larry King's opinion matters, huh? At least unlike Larry King (a spokesperson for redefining marriage), David Tyree is not a mocker of marriage. Good for NOM for sharing the thoughts of a man who obviously honors and cherishes true marriage.
the best part of the TMZ piece is as follows:
"And the kicker, Tyree -- who's black -- says, "How can marriage be marriage for thousands of years and now all the sudden because a minority, an influential minority, has a push or agenda ... and totally reshapes something that was not founded in our country."
FYI -- Tyree's statement comes almost 44 years to the day after interracial marriage was legalized in the United States ... thanks, in part, to the agenda of an influential minority."
wake up, a.m. !
The slaves were not an "influential minority". Without the majority, they would have gotten nowhere.
There's no analogy, except in your head.
Interracial marriage cannot be equated with the redefinition of marriage being sought through the illegitimate implementation of same-sex marriage. In the former men and women come together in matrimony to create and nurture the next generation, while in the latter nothing is provided to civilization.
Marriage between different races has always existed in all societies. Males and females of different ethnicities have come together through the ages and new races have been brought by those unions. While the most likely outcome of people of same sex engagements have been rises in infectious diseases within the human population.
Good job Mr. Tyree.
May I have the honors of spiking the football for you, Mr. Tyree?
As expected, the NY General Assembly passed gay marriage but by a suprisingly flimsy vote of just 80-63 when the Dems control the chamber by a whopping 100-48. I don't know the partisan breakdown but they're clearly were a lot of Republicans AND Dems who voted against this piece of garbage legislation.
The other good news is that the Republican conference is clearly conflicted on even bringing this horrid thing to a vote - something that seemed a foregone conclusion as recently as yesterday.
So folks, don't give up the fight!
80-63 is flimsy? I thought that was considered a solid majority.
You guys keep talking about tyree. You should link the video of the NY giants' 'it gets better' video. Or maybe the Chicago Cubs video instead.
You want to know what will happen when gay marriage becomes legal (I say "when" because there is no denying that it will eventually become legal nationally), gay people will get married. That's it. It will not affect religion or the way heterosexual couples live their lives. It's a good thing no one remembers this guy because no one is listening to him. NOM can't get anyone but washed up old sports stars to support their cause.
Hey here is a new poll released by Public Opinion Strategies that finds that Americans support traditional marriage 62%-35%
Here's the link: http://www.charismamag.com/index.php/news/31290-study-majority-of-americans-against-gay-marriage
I think all polls are bs, but the fact that this one is consistent with the results at the important polls taken at the voting booth suggests that this one is more accurate than others.
I agree with Mr. Tyree - marriage is on a slippery slop. We have to determine what it is we stand, but that's a moral issue and that is sorely lacking in the debate about what marriage is and what it is not. I'm also very frustrated that The Movement takes aim at every person who feels that marriage is between one man and one woman – and that if you hold this moral view that you are some how backwards or simple minded. I think it’s refreshing for someone to hold the institution of marriage in such high regard and to say so out loud.
David, as a lifelong Giants fan, all I can say is WOW! God Bless you and thanks for being way more than a Superbowl Hero!
.......and they sought the approval of men MORE than the approval of God.
May each of you, asking for Jesus help to comprihend and understand, read your Bibles and seek first His will and His way.
As this young man so clearly pointed out, your eternal destiny is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than to be "popular" with a few worldly folks.
I hope David Tyree sees my comment. I just want to give a real hardy THANK YOU for taking a very public stand. He is giving those who do not have voice in the public arena, a voice.
Thank you very much!!!
At last an athlete with values who can actually be considered a role model for our kids!
What a gentle-spirited, articulate man. Thank you.
I wonder if David Tyree was high on drugs when he did this interview. He had a lot of problems with drugs in the past.
I totally agree with this man, and it makes me happy that someone is finally taking a stand!!! In reading some of these comments, it really burns me up how gayes compare there SO CALLED struggles to the Black struggle. First of all being gaye is a lifestyle not a race! Black people have things called ghettos that developed from the oppression of our race in this country. Last time I looked, I didn't see any gaye ghettos. Black people can't say I don't want people to know Im Black. So as a Black person, I feel that our race should be furious when gayes compare their so called struggles to ours.
If this country is going to start handing out rights to LIFESTYLES, they may as well give the goths some special rights. Make it easier for goths to climb up the corporate ladder with their black lipstick and fingernails. Make it legal for them to drink blood. Homosexualtiy is definitely a lifestyle that this country needs to pump the brakes on.
It was only a few short years ago that David Tyree broke this die hard New England Patriots football fans heart when he made that play.
But I am man enough to know that God and marriage is so much more important. Thank you David and God bless your efforts.
Patriots fan, so I'm not a big fan of David Tyree. However, this man should be entitled to speak his mind!! America is a great nation b/c we allow our citizens the opportunity to voice their opinion. Whether you are a senator, athete or a common citizen like myself, you are afforded the opportunity to express yourself. Many great men and women have died to afford us this freedom!
First, Thank you so much Mr Tyree for standing up for truth! I praise God for you! My son loves football, and I am so thankful for heros like you who are standing up for God in our culture! Never lose heart!
Earlier Mathanial asked what should gay people do, kill themselves? I am grieved by that statment...MOST DEFINITELY NOT! They are loved by God as much as anyone else. Just because God calls homosexuality sin (as He also does selfishness, idolatry, hatred, gluttony, pride, etc) doesn't mean He doesn't love us. He loves us enough to free us from ourselves (our sin). He gave His life and rose again for us so we can be free and experience real peace and joy and life.
What can homosexuals do? Repent. Just like I must do of my own sin of selfishness and pride, etc. God loves us way too much to leave us enslaved by our sin. All sin keeps us from God. He hates sin but LOVES us sinners.
We, as humans, are very arrogant to think that we can tell the God of the Universe, who created all things and holds all things together (and has the power to wipe us all out with a word), what right and wrong is? We must play by HIS rules, found in His book the Bible. May He have mercy on us!
