Dear Marriage Supporter,
Hopefully by now you're aware that the 2016 March for Marriage is set for June 25th in Washington, DC. We're calling on all supporters of marriage, religious liberty and the recognition that biology (not "identity") determines gender to make a special effort to join us at this year's March. Please register today.
But I am writing to you today about an urgent problem. I've just reviewed the budget for the March and I have to admit I am concerned. We're $25,000 short of being able to cover the costs for security, staging, sound, promotion and all the other elements that are involved in hosting an event like this.
I don't have any choice but to turn to you and other strong supporters to ask for help. Will you please make an immediate contribution of $35, $50, $75, $100 or even $500 or more? If God has blessed you with financial success, perhaps you can even sacrifice to donate $1,000, $2,500 or even $5,000. But whatever you can manage, please make your contribution right away because the bills are mounting rapidly.
There's just two weeks and two days left before the 2016 March for Marriage happens in our nation's capital. This is an extremely important event, one where we can focus attention on several critical things:
- Protesting the outrageous, anti-constitutional and illegitimate decision of the US Supreme Court redefining marriage — a decision wholly unsupported by the law — that stripped over 50 million voters across America of their sovereign right to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
- Protesting the imposition of a dangerous gender ideology by LGBT extremists and President Obama that risks the privacy and safety of girls and women by allowing men who claim a female "gender identity" to force their way into bathrooms, showers, changing areas and locker rooms.
- And we will march to demand that Congress and our elected representatives pass the First Amendment Defense Act to provide legal protections for supporters of traditional marriage from being persecuted by the government.
LGBT extremists and their allies in Hollywood, Wall Street and the Obama administration wish that we would just go away, stop fighting for the truth of marriage and quit battling against the imposition of their gender-bender ideology. But we have no intention of quitting the fight, and the 2016 March for Marriage will serve notice to them, the Supreme Court and to the Washington elite that the American people stand with us in support of the truth of marriage, religious freedom and the complementarity of the sexes.
But before we can rally Americans behind this righteous cause, we need to deal with the practical realities that we're $25,000 short of being able to pay the expected bills.
Please act today to make the most generous contribution you can — whether that be $25, $250 or $2,500. Only you know what's possible given your circumstances. All I ask is that you prayerfully consider what sacrificial gift you can manage, and that you act today to make your donation.
Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you in DC at the 2016 March for Marriage on June 25th.
