So says the NY Daily News -- all the more reason to keep the pressure up in the meantime:
Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos said if there is a gay marriage vote -- and that will be decided by the conference tomorrow morning in a closed-door session -- it will likely be on Friday, our Ken Lovett notes.Despite there already being 31 votes, Skelos wasn't prepared to say the bill will pass if it reaches the floor.
This means it's not at all clear they have enough votes to pass their bill.
Let's continue to hit the phones! And encourage your friends and family to call as well.

I hit the phones, and yes Brian now I must do my emails.
It's interesting that they're not able to come to terms on this. I think Senator Skelos really needs to realize that if he doesn't show some spine and NOT ALLOW THIS TO COME TO A VOTE, he's being bullied by that Governor Cuomo into doing his bidding in the one place in New York State where the Dems don't run things. The voters elected a Republican majority in the New York State Senate knowing full well that this could happen. I say that Senator Skelos should remind Cuomo that he is still mortal and can't just be, as Spitzer once foolishly called himself, a bulldozer.
