According to a survey by Gannett's Albany Bureau:
Eight senators — including the two who represent Dutchess County — indicated they are undecided on whether they would support same-sex marriage legislation if the bill comes to a vote, a survey of all 62 senators found.
The measure would need 32 votes for adoption in the Senate, and 26 senators, all Democrats, indicated they would back the bill. Twenty-eight senators expressed opposition — possibly leaving the measure's fate in the hands of the eight undecided lawmakers, five Republicans and three Democrats.

I do not get a particularly warm and fuzzy feeling from reading this.
Especially Ball. The notion of religious "carve outs" shows that his thinking about marriage has already been adjusted to fit the gay marriage template.
This is the first seriously disturbing news I have heard out of New York.
I hope somebody can assist Senator Ball in understanding that marriage is not something to be defined two ways, or six, or nineteen, depending upon how the political winds are blowing.
Especially when the wind is being created by the Great Hot Air Machine at HRC.
Let's hope and pray that these 8 vote the right way and uphold traditional marriage in the Empire State.
The legislatures need to know that they are supposed to represent the people. This is how the people feel and not special interests.
The people of New York by their vote have shown that they do not want SSM.
"undecided" in this issue means, "I am going to vote against SSM, but I don't want to put up with the harassing phone calls and emails from the homosexual activist whiners, so I'm going to keep it to myself."
Who are the undecided Republicans?
