2016 March for Marriage
Saturday, June 25th
11:30am until 2:00pm
All the details are available at the March for Marriage website.
This is the first March for Marriage since the US Supreme Court illegitimately ruled to redefine marriage last June. We're marching to protest that outrageous, anti-constitutional decision that legal scholars have pointed out lacks any foundation in the law or judicial precedence and was essentially invented out of whole cloth by a bare majority of justices on the Court intent on imposing their own values on the nation.
Of course, LGBT activists assured the American people that all they wanted in the "gay marriage" movement was to "marry" the person they love, and there would be no consequences to anyone else if their demands were granted. We knew that was a lie — and we regularly warned the American people of the consequences that would develop — and subsequent events have proven that all Americans are at risk of a redefined marriage law. Countless people have been sued, fired, jailed, forced to pay huge fines, had their businesses closed and reputations ruined simply because they did not want to personally be involved in a gay "wedding." So much for no consequences.
And it didn't take long before the LGBT extremists pivoted to the next item on their agenda to remake morality in America — giving "transgender" people the right to force themselves into bathrooms, showers, locker rooms and changing rooms reserved for the opposite sex. Their chief advocate is President Obama, who is using the full power of the federal government to push this extreme agenda, which risks the privacy and safety of girls and women.
We will march on June 25th to protest this extreme Obama transgender agenda.
And while we are outside of the US Capitol, we'll demand that Congress act to pass critical legal protections to prevent the government from targeting supporters of marriage for persecution. It is not discrimination for someone to uphold their deeply-held faith beliefs about the nature of marriage and the truth that marriage is intrinsically the union of one man and one woman. We call on Congress to pass the First Amendment Defense Act immediately.
So you can see, this year's March for Marriage is a critical event. We need to assemble as many people as possible so that we can reawaken supporters of marriage who remain disillusioned over the Supreme Court's outrageous and anti-constitutional ruling last year. This year's March is the first step to rebuilding a vibrant movement and we really need all our supporters to attend.
Please go to the March for Marriage website and register for the March. This will help us have an idea of how many supporters we can expect.
And whether you can attend the March in person or not, there is another critical way that you can help. The cost of organizing an event of this magnitude is quite high, and the bills are mounting fast. We need to raise $25,000 immediately to cover things like staging, sound equipment engineering and rental, security, banners and promotion, etc. Please make a gift of $35, $50, $100, $250 or $500 or more. If God has blessed you with financial resources, perhaps you can step up with a gift of $1,000, $2,500 or even $5,000.
Whatever you can give, please do so today.
I look forward to hearing back from you. Please do your best to attend this year's critical March for Marriage.
