Dear Marriage Supporter,
As you've seen, NOM has been hard at work fighting to restore marriage to our laws and protect the right of Americans to live out the truth of marriage in their daily lives at work, at home and at church. We've been fighting for religious liberty legislation in Congress and in states across the country; we've helped lead the opposition to "bathroom bills" pressed by the LGBT lobby that jeopardize the privacy and safety of girls and women; we've mobilized thousands of Americans at the grassroots to get involved to support marriage; and we are playing a leading role in advancing marriage in the presidential contest.
All of our work is made possible because of the support of you and other members of NOM. We are a diverse grassroots organization, made up of individuals of all faiths, men and women, with incredible ethnic diversity across America. The financial support of our members is the lifeblood of our organization. Without that support we simply cannot effectively undertake the hard work necessary to fight to restore true marriage to our nation's laws and to protect the religious liberty rights of Americans who believe in marriage.
This is why I am asking you to renew your support of NOM with a minimum membership contribution of $35. If you can renew your support at a higher level, I ask you to consider doing so.
As you know, 2016 is a pivotal year for the cause of marriage. We will be electing a new president who will have the opportunity to nominate as many as three or four new justices to the US Supreme Court, creating the possibility that the anti-constitutional, illegitimate decision redefining marriage could soon be reexamined by a newly-configured Supreme Court. It's therefore imperative that we elect a pro-marriage champion as president this year.
We also will have a major battle in Congress to pass the First Amendment Defense Act, critical legislation needed to protect the civil rights of people to continue to support marriage in their daily lives and at work without fear of punishment or reprisal. We will soon announce details of a major national grassroots mobilization to increase pressure on GOP leaders to bring this critical legislation to a vote.
We are also in need of investing in reinvigorating the grassroots with meaningful education and training. That's why we developing educational materials that will help grassroots supporters to be better informed about the issues and be able to participate in small group discussions about ways to restore true marriage in our culture.
But none of these efforts will be successful unless people like you renew their membership. Please act today to renew your membership for a minimum of $35 so that we can move full-speed ahead in support of the great cause of marriage.
You have been generous in the past with your support of NOM and I am counting on you to continue to stand with us in support of God's design for marriage. Please act today to renew your membership for a minimum contribution of $35.
PS — As a voluntary membership organization, the National Organization for Marriage depends on the donations of grassroots Americans like you. Unlike groups trying to redefine morality and our society, we don't receive contributions from big corporations or billionaire donors. Your membership contribution of $35 or more is what sustains us, so please act today to renew your support. Thank you.
