Cruz Takes Lead Over Trump In National Poll; South Carolina Contest Is Pivotal

Dear Marriage Supporter,

A new national survey by NBC and the Wall Street Journal was released last night and it shows that Sen. Ted Cruz has overtaken Donald Trump and now leads the race on a national basis, 28%-26%! This represents an 8 point improvement for Cruz and a 7 point drop for Trump and comes on the heels of Cruz' victory in Iowa and strong second-place showing in New Hampshire despite not spending much time or money in the state.

Whether this poll represents the beginning of a trend or just a snapshot in time remains to be seen. Pollster Bill McInturff described the results as Republican voters hitting the "pause" button on the Trump candidacy in order to assess things.

One thing is certain — the vote in South Carolina this Saturday is critically important. I hope you've had an opportunity to watch the powerful new TV ad that NOM is airing in the state informing voters that Donald Trump dumped us, the people of South Carolina and over 50 million voters across the country on the issue of marriage. When the US Supreme Court issued their infamous and illegitimate ruling imposing gay 'marriage' on the nation, Trump said that, "You have to go with it. The decision's been made, and that is the law of the land."

Of course, we don't "have to go with it." A better course is to "Dump Trump," as our ad urges voters, and to fight to restore marriage to our laws.

I'm asking you to do two things today. First, please forward our ad to anyone you know in South Carolina and ask them to watch it before they go to the polls on Saturday. Second, please make an emergency financial contribution to help us get the ad in front of more South Carolina voters.

If we can help stop Donald Trump in South Carolina, it could be the beginning of the end for his candidacy, and it could propel Ted Cruz, a true marriage champion we can count on to fight to restore marriage to our national laws, to victory.

Please consider making an emergency financial contribution of $25, $50, $100, $500 or even $1,000 or more so that we can get this important advertisement seen by more people in South Carolina. We've been able to deliver the ad over 200,000 times to voters, but we need much more exposure in the final days of the South Carolina primary campaign. I'm hoping we can more than double the size of the audience we reach, but to do that I need you to step up with a generous contribution.

There are only two days left in the South Carolina primary campaign. Please forward our ad to anyone you know in South Carolina, and make a generous financial contribution so that we can reach more people in the final days.

Faithfully,

Brian S Brown

PS — If the NBC/WSJ poll is accurate, it means that momentum in this race may be shifting dramatically. A win by Ted Cruz in South Carolina would be huge and could set him up to dismantle the Trump candidacy on Super Tuesday when numerous southern states vote. Please consider an emergency contribution so that we can close out our ad buy strong in South Carolina. Thank you!
