Stand with Archbishop Cordileone

Dear Friends — Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has been a staunch and loving defender of the beauty of God's design for marriage. He played a huge role in working with NOM to qualify Proposition 8 to the ballot in California, and he's been a nationwide spokesperson for the truth of marriage ever since. In fact, he chairs the subcommittee of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops that promotes and defends marriage across the country.

Archbishop Cordileone also happens to be working in a very difficult area, San Francisco, where many people reject the Catholic Church's teaching on marriage and sexuality. Despite these cultural challenges, the Archbishop has remained a courageous voice for the truth.

Recently, he has come under public attack by a group that paid for an unbelievable full page newspaper ad in the San Francisco Chronicle demanding that Pope Francis remove him from his post. Why? Because the Archbishop wants teachers in San Francisco's Catholic schools to teach authentic Catholic beliefs to children who attend Catholic schools.

Fortunately, an independent grassroots group of Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese of San Francisco have formed to show the grassroots support in San Francisco for Archbishop Cordileone. These are regular folks in the pews who want to do something to stand by an Archbishop they love and respect.

If you are called, I am asking you to make an immediate financial contribution to support their efforts. SFCatholics.org is organizing a family picnic and wants to publicize in the media their statement of support for the Archbishop. They need to raise $40,000 to cover the costs of events and advertisements, and I am asking you to help. A GoFundMe campaign has been established for this purpose.

Please give a generous contribution right away so that these local Catholic families have the resources they need to properly support Archbishop Cordileone. The family picnic is coming up on May 16th so time is tight to promote it. I want to help them raise $40,000 toward the cost of their activities in the next 72 hours. Your donation of whatever you can give — whether $1,000, $100, $50, or even $10 — will go directly to pay for expenses related to supporting Archbishop Cordileone. Anything above their goal will be held for future events and communications.

Let's stand now in support of Archbishop Cordileone by making a generous financial contribution today.

Faithfully,

Brian S Brown
