What Is Membership?

National Organization for Marriage

Dear Marriage Supporter,

As the first month of 2015 rapidly comes to a close, I'm asking you to please consider clicking here to renew your membership in the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) with a generous donation of $35, $50, $100, $500 or even $1,000 or more.

In just 3 short months, the United States Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments in a case that could well determine the future of marriage in America... a case that could deliver a great victory for us, or turn out to be the Roe v Wade of marriage.

We are working our tails off to ensure victory and to make sure the Supreme Court knows that millions of Americans like you continue to stand for the truth of marriage and will not ever accept the notion that marriage is somehow unconstitutional and subject to redefinition by activist judges.

And in June we expect to know their decision — whether they hold to legal precedent (in Baker v Nelson) that states have a right to pass laws regulating marriage; or whether they try to create a fictitious legal "right" to same-sex ‘marriage.'

But regardless of what the court decides, NOM will continue fighting to defend marriage and religious liberty!

I have to tell you, I am really excited about our opportunities this year. We're in the best position we've been in in years thanks to the support of you and other members of NOM.

With a solid pro-marriage majority in both the House and the US Senate, populated by real marriage champions like Representatives Raul Labrador and John Fleming in the House and Senators Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and newly elected Thom Tillis and Tom Cotton in the Senate, we are in a great position to advance critical legislation.

In fact, our federal team is already hard at work on several bills including protecting the right of every American to be free of government punishment for defending the truth of marriage in the daily lives.

In addition to work in Congress, we're also working behind the scenes to advance critical legislation at the state level, where a huge majority of pro-marriage legislators and Governors now hold office across the land.

We're also working hard to make sure the next Republican presidential nominee is a trusted conservative and marriage supporter. We'll have an announcement soon about our new presidential pledge that we will ask every candidate to sign. It could be a game-changer in the presidential contest, because it is going to put candidates' feet to the fire.

But all of this and more can happen only if we have the continued support of members like you. Please renew your membership today.

It's so important that when you respond to this email with a donation, I'm going to send you a copy of the book, "Who Told You That You Were Naked?" by former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran.

NOM has joined with many other groups to help Chief Cochran fight the outrageous decision of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed to fire him because Chief Cochran's book is true to Biblical norms on marriage and sexuality.

And membership to NOM means you will receive numerous benefits including:

  • A quarterly subscription of our print newsletter, Marriage & Liberty, which will keep you informed about all the fights to defend marriage around the country;

  • My weekly "insider" update emails on the latest news of the marriage fight; and

  • Opportunities to make your opinions known through periodic members-only surveys on critical issues facing marriage in 2015.

Most importantly, you will be standing up in defense of marriage, a part of NOM, the largest and most vocal champion of marriage in America today. I am proud to represent your voice and your values in the fight to defend marriage, and I ask that you allow me to do so once again.

Renewing your membership today is important because marriage is at a critical point in history.

We have a big year ahead of us as we attempt to pass legislation protecting religious liberty on the federal and state level so that ordinary Americans who believe in marriage aren't penalized by the government for their beliefs.

We have to organize and carry out the third annual March for Marriage — the focal point for the marriage counter-revolution... a national grassroots uprising designed to make a powerful statement that cannot be ignored by the cultural and political elites who are trying to quietly reshape our society and our most precious institution of marriage.

In today's cultural climate where marriage is constantly under attack from the courts, from the media, from Hollywood, from an increasing number of major players in corporate America and from the Obama Administration, NOM's work defending marriage and the faith communities that sustain it is more critical than ever!

Marriage is at a tipping point — and your renewed financial investment in NOM will put you on the front lines of the fight to defend society's most important institution!

Please join me today in fighting back against those who are determined to redefine marriage at all costs. Help me provide real opportunities for the vast majority of the American people who believe in marriage to stand up and fight back!

Faithfully,

Brian S Brown

PS: Now is the time to stand up and be counted. Will 2015 be a year of boundless opportunity for marriage? Or will it be the year people who believed in marriage sat back and watched activist judges redefine it? Please join me today in standing for the truth about marriage. Click here to renew your membership with a generous donation to help take advantage of all the tremendous opportunities a pro-marriage Congress presents leading up to the inevitable Supreme Court case on marriage!
