Brian Brown: Upstate NY GOP Rep. Who Signed Anti-Marriage Brief Will Get Primary Opponent

Brian Brown, President of NOM, on the GOP grassroots mobilizing to unseat one of the two Republican representatives in Congress who recently came out against the Republican platform which pledges to protect marriage:

Only two members of Congress were among the several dozen Republicans who signed on to a legal brief asserting the constitutionality of same-sex marriage, and one of them was upstate New York congressman Richard Hanna.

Hanna's support for the brief comes in defiance of last fall's election results, when three of the four Republicans in the State Senate who voted in favor of same-sex marriage were defeated at the polls. And, in the eyes of same-sex marriage opponents, what Hanna did was even worse.

"It's much more egregious," said Brian Brown, the president of the National Organization for Marriage.

"To sign on to this completely novel and erroneous understanding of our law is an embarrassment to him, and obviously they should be primaried," he added. (Capital New York)

The last time you unseated Republicans you replaced them with Pro-Equality Democrats. Addition by subtraction, ne?

Your threats didn't do much here in NH either as pro gay marriage Democrats recaptured the legislature after the gay marriage repeal vote.

Ya know...if these republicans dont want to stand for principles of the party, then just become a democrat. They're experts at changing positions when it suits them even going so far as exploiting dead children to further an agenda.

    @Herb,

"Democrats recaptured the legislature after the gay marriage repeal vote."

The Dems recaptured the legislature because the Republicans went back on their word. kinda hard to stay in office when you go against those who put you there in the first place.

But you just keep on cheering your depravity ever forward; your day is coming.

"It is on that day when all of the athiests and evolutionists find out oh there really is a GOD!!!!!!!!"

I'm not someone who thinks evolution is a fact, but I will concede that it is probably the answer to how and not why. I don't believe everything came from nothing or happened by chance/accident. And I say this as a firm believer in God. I joke sometimes that the only difference between me and an evangelical christian is the fact that I don't often attend church nor belong to any christian denomination(yet).

Randy - That will be my face come June. It will be your face if deep down underneath that self-hating exterior of yours is a man who knows what is ultimately right.

Robert->Hate groups like NOM just make me sad

Is moral opposition to polygamy hatred?

Its not, and moral opposition to a public law that would allow gay sex marriage is not hatred either.

Moral opposition is one thing, hatred another.

You seem to wrongly conflate the two as though they were one and the same thing.

If you do that, however, you falsely accuse others of hatred. That would be sad if you were doing that , yes?

So what exactly is this "hate" you are referring to?

Re-examine yourself on that. Check whether your own prejudice is falsely accusing others hate.

Moral opposition to a bad public law is one thing, hatred of gay individuals is something else.

Don't allow your prejudice to false accuse others of hatred because they morally oppose a bad public law.

So, Robert, will you continue to accuse others of hate for morally opposing a bad public law?
