Dear Marriage Supporter,
It's coming down to crunch time for marriage in Illinois, and it's critical that you and I act NOW.
I'll keep this short, so as not to take much of your time, but please take 5 minutes to read this message and then contact your state representative right away.

Attend Today's Hearing in Springfield
After passing the Senate earlier this month, a same-sex marriage bill — under the Orwellian title of "Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act" — will be heard in the House Executive Committee today.
If you can make it to Springfield, your presence will make a powerful statement, regardless of whether you choose to testify before the committee. NOM's own Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, head of the Ruth Institute, will be testifying. Please come early to meet Dr. Morse, and bring friends! Legislators need to know how much their constituents care about protecting marriage.

Room 114 Capitol Building
Date: Tuesday, February 26

Send an Email to Representative Rita Mayfield
Representative Rita Mayfield, a Democrat from Waukegan, has announced that she will be tallying emails received for and against same-sex marriage, and she will take that information seriously into account as she weighs her vote.
Please take a moment right now to send Rep. Mayfield a short messaging asking her to OPPOSE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE. Her email address is mayfieldr@ilga.gov.

Email your own Representative
Use this link to send a short email message to your state representative urging him or her to vote to defend religious liberty and defend marriage, our only civil institution that connects children with parents. Marriage and faith matter!
Please take 5 minutes to rally around the defense of marriage! And please forward this message to anyone else you know in the Land of Lincoln who can help defend this beautiful, God-given institution.
Together we can keep up the momentum and save marriage in Illinois!

Just sent a very fine e-mail to Ms. Mayfield in STRONG support of Illinois' movement to marriage equality. Thank you for the connection.
Stop the attack on traditional marriage!
Just sent a very fine e-mail to Ms. Mayfield in STRONG support of true marriage and illustrating what a hilarious lie the term "marriage equality" is. Thank you for the connection.
BTW, if the given e-mail doesn't work, try this one: 60thdistrict@gmail.com
We were one vote short of blocking this from the full house (where we will win anyway). This shows how important NOM is, and calling and supporting Republicans who are opposed to re-defining marriage. I notice how the other side lied and said the Regenrus NFSS had be retracted. There is a bald faced LIE by SSM extremists. Nothing from Elsiver supports this false claim about the NFSS.
"...who can help defend this beautiful, God-given institution."
Yeah, that's why non-religious couples have always been able to marry in our country... at city hall. Man created marriage, not God. That's why the state issues marriage licenses, not the church. Until you stop conflating an optional religious ceremony with secular civil marriage, you will continue to dismissed by the majority of Americans. Your entire philosophy is based on the lie that "Christian church marriage" is the only marriage that exists.
Jesus said,
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
<blockquoteMan created marriage, not God. That's why the state issues marriage licenses..."
By that logic the state created Christmas since the state recognizes it as a holiday!
Thanks for the info...sent an email asking for her support of SSM!
