URGENT: Action Needed to Stop Same-Sex Marriage in Hawaii!

National Organization for Marriage

Dear Marriage Supporter,

We urgently need your help to stop same-sex marriage in Hawaii.

Twenty years ago, an out-of-control judge first tried to force same-sex marriage on Hawaii, launching our nation's ongoing debate about marriage. But thanks to a dedicated band of pro-family heroes, his ruling was not the final word!

It's a story we've seen play out time and time again in state after state...activist judges and politicians influenced by same-sex marriage lobbyist money try to force same-sex marriage on the people — only to run into a grassroots revolt from voters who know that marriage means a husband and wife joined together for the benefit of not only their own children, but all of society.

Today the need is perhaps even greater. Fresh off electoral victories in November, gay marriage activists are pressing hard to pass a same-sex marriage bill in Hawaii this year — even though Hawaii's civil unions law went into effect just a year ago.

It is critical that we step up today. Polling has shown that the people of Hawaii don't want same-sex marriage. But the pressure on politicians — from out-of-state activists and lobbyists flown in by the Human Rights Campaign all the way to President Obama himself — is growing intense.

Your legislators need to hear from hundreds or even thousands of their constituents right away!

That's why I am asking you to do two things immediately:

  1. Contact your state senator and representative today! Use this link to send an email to your elected officials.

  2. Or — better still — click here to look up their phone numbers and make a personal phone call to tell your senator and representative: Oppose Senate Bill 1369!

Please take action right now. It only takes a minute to send your lawmakers a message, and it is vitally important that they hear your voice right away.

  3. Forward this email to friends and family throughout the state, or use the buttons below to share on Facebook and Twitter. It's going to take thousands of Hawaiians working together to protect marriage and freedom in the Aloha State. Help spread the word today!

I know that I can count on you to stand up for marriage today!

I have family in Hawaii and forwarded this on to them. This is unbelievable. Every time we get a good result, the gays try to go somewhere else. What happened to the UNITED STATES of America. Decent people should end this everywhere.

    Brian,

I thought you recently spent a week in France protesting marriage equality. It seems you have visited many US states as part of "pro-marriage" efforts. Why are you complaining about out of state activists influencing events in Hawaii?

Wyoming said it best, they will not allow marriage terrorists to carpetbag on real civil rights in order to force the homosexual agenda on helpless children.

"Polling has shown that the people of Hawaii don't want same-sex marriage."

Care to back that claim up, especially after you similarly pooh-poohed the polls coming out of Maine, Maryland, Washington, and Minnesota?

    @John B.

So are you freely admitting that you are not politically powerless...?

Randy - The issue is not political power. The issue is how Americans have evolved in their views towards marriage equality and their gay brothers and sisters. You are free to remain in the Dark Ages as more and more Americans evolve and live up to our American ideals

    Bobby,

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals declared section 3 of DOMA unconstitutional because it "disadvantages a unpopular politically powerless minority."

The only reason why there is a discussion taking place in the Supreme Court right now is because perverts have been declared politically powerless by subordinate courts.

To claim that "the issue is not political power." is to be disingenuous; at best.

Disingenuous: lacking in candor; also : giving a false appearance of simple frankness : calculating.

Yet here you are claiming the failed Policies of Nero, which led to the dark ages, are an evolutionary step towards enlightenment.

Go sell crazy somewhere else because we are not buying any today.!

    Randy: Hello:
You start with good points regarding SCOTUS, but then go on to Nero and the Middle Ages.

What exactly was wrong or drastic about the Middle Ages? Was it 'the plague'? Was it 'the inquisition'?

Mostly, i am curious about the connection to Nero. Please advice.

My state senators have been paid off by the HRC and their gay friends, so they're a waste of time. There are other ways though. Keep up the good work Brian.

Bobby, either justify your gay emphasis or drop it.

Is there a gay requirement for those who'd SSM? If not, why not?

There is no straight requirement for those who'd marry, today, under the bride-plus-groom requirement. Of course, the supremacy of identity politics was rebuked in the Loving decision in federal court quite a few years ago.

Does your gay emphasis mean that gay is race-like. You must be aware that there is one human race so perhaps you mean to use the criteria of racists to assert a racist analogy -- except that gay would be a racist-like category of persons. Your gay emphasis surely does not depend on such a rebuked argument.

So, please plainly state the justification for your gay emphasis. Or drop it.
