Socialist Politician Says Spanish Bishop Should be "Muzzled"

CNA/EWTN News:

A socialist government official in Andalusia, Spain, called for a local Catholic bishop to be “muzzled” for arguing that men and women are both different and complementary.

Bishop Demetrio Fernandez of Cordoba should be silenced for leveling attacks against “real and effective equality between men and women,” charged Miguel Angel Vazquez, a member of the Socialist Party and spokesman for the Andalusian provincial government.

In a Jan. 4 post on his personal blog, Vazquez labeled Bishop Fernandez “a true representative of religious fanaticism” and said that the prelate provokes “controversies that are at odds with the individual and collective rights embodied in the constitution.”

Calling the bishop’s defense of marriage and the family “backwards,” Vazquez said that he would “rather burn in hell (if it exists) than renounce equality.”

In a recent pastoral letter, Bishop Fernandez critiqued sexual philosophies that hold the differences between men and women to be a social construct rather than a biological reality.

    Vasquez's strategy: demonize, persecute, silence.

That's what happens when you normalize homosexuality. And Spain also made the farce of homosexual "marriage" legal.

Coming to a US State near you.

Homosexuality can never "normalized". The best the lefties, zealots, progressives, liberals can do is name call, demonize those who speak the truth. But truth is truth and must be stated and restated over and over and over.

Whatever happened to "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" ?

It takes a brave man/woman (in this R.Catholic case, a man) to stand for the obvious natural truth in the face of threats and demonizing.

Mother Theresa said it like: In order for someone to lead, he/she must be willing to go forth alone.

Religious leaders are often willing to confront those who are confused, though this topic is not a religious topic. But only the religious people will make a stand against SSm, because it will affect religious liberty.

Confused people can be very dangerous, because they believe 100% they are correct. It is like a crazy guy with a gun. It is not a case of nihilism, they are simply confused (incorrect), perhaps due to a certain lack of relevant information.

But Spain is legendarily very R. Catholic. Spanish soldiers colonized great expanses for the R. Catholic queen of Spain. The word of a priest carries lots of weight, there. It is the priest who has cared for many of them.

Believe it, Or Not. . .

Liberals depend on lies to maintain their political and ideological power and to increasingly grab more power, pushing anyone who disagrees out of any democratic participation of society.

That's what happened. It's an ugly power grab - which obligatorily deprives the rest of us of our most fundamental rights.

I don't think in terms of political power today. And I would say a lot of the population is traditionally and ritualistic Catholic, but not really practicing Catholics.

However, the number of same sex couples which got married in Spain is absolutely minimal.

Clearly, the majority of homosexuals in Spain are too dysfunctional for SS marriage, meaning even for the parody of real marriage they have too many problematic attitudes and behaviors.

You do realize that Spain legalized homosexual "marriage" through a democratic process, don't you?

A majority of not only RC, but fanatically R Catholics, would have never wanted or allowed that.

wikipedia, for what it''s worth, quotes the support for homosexual "marriage" at two thirds of the voters. As you can see, no fanatical RC majority, quite the contrary.
