I hope Americans follow France's footsteps and stand up to the militants who want to destroy marriage.
@lonesomeroades:
The biggest problem in America for people who disagree is that conservatives are tired about talking about this issue, and they've been avoiding discussing it. It is seen as prophetic that same-sex marriage will win, but in many ways its been a self-fulfilling prophecy. For instance all the major conservative sites (Breitbart, Dailly Caller, The Blaze, etc.) have virtually ignored the rallies in Paris. Breitbart *finally* added an article about the rally, buried somewhere on the site, hard to find, some time after I sent them an e-mail about it. The Blaze, which has taken on a libertarian bent, and has been programming its often-religious readers to accept the inevitability, did a big story on the Femen protest at the Vatican but ignored the Paris rallies entirely.
Conservative news sites displayed much more public anger over people being publicly outed for owning guns than they did for people being publicly outed for having supported Prop 8. This needs to be framed as a "bullying" issue as well, because people are being bullied on this. Coverage of the Paris rallies in the conservative media could inspire people here to stand up, but alas they don't want to cover it.
Groups like NOM need to establish contacts with conservative news sites and make the case for better coverage of this issue.
Awesome! It's like the March for Life in Washsington, D.C.!
Children need both parents. Look at prison situation, most of the people in there don't have father or mother. They need both.
Absolutely amazing !
And right in the heart of secular Europe.
What a day!
This is what conservatives, pro-lifers, pro-marriage need to do in America. We are basically unheard by the people because the media blacks our message out. I believe we are still the Silent Majority, but we must become much more vocal.
I amr right with the French and hope they continue, and yes we need to stand up together for marriage between man and woman. United we stand divided we fall. God must and will prevail.
It's good to know that there are still some people with the backbone to not allow themselves to be cowed into rubber-stamping a lifestyle they don't agree with or feel comfortable with.
Children need both parents - the man and woman. Ideally the two who brought them into the world
Children need both parents for many reasons. one reason is that girls who are loved by their fathers have more self-confidence and are more succesful in marriage and careers.
Children need both parents for many reasons. One reason is that girls who are affirmed by their fathers usually have more self-confidence.
Finally the church is taking a stand for the will of God. I pray that all the nations of the world will follow in France's pro marriage footsteps.
