Two Gay Men Sue Christian Preschool in New Mexico for Damages

The school says on its website they offer a "Christian environment with an emphasis on teaching Biblical principles and truths" and yet these two gay men chose to sue the school for "compensatory and punitive damages" when they denied their child's application to attend:

"A homosexual couple has sued a Christian preschool in New Mexico after the school had accepted the three-year-old boy the two men are raising as their son, only to reject the child later. In their complaint the two men, Joseph Romero and John Keelin, allege that officials at Hope Christian School in Albuquerque first accepted their three-year-old son, then sent them a denial letter when the school realized the boy's parents were homosexual.

In the lawsuit, the two men claim that they “were even told that a new student packet has been prepared for him and that the school was expecting to get acceptance letters out the following week.” But shortly after that notification, the two “received a denial letter on April 16, 2010,” the complaint continues. “Upon further inquiry, the school sent a letter dated June 13, 2012 to plaintiffs' attorney. The letter indicated that the school denied admission to plaintiffs' son because plaintiffs were a same gender couple and that, as a result, their home was inconsistent with the school's beliefs.” (The New American)

The gay mafia strikes again. Another example of the gay-"marriage" crowd's hypocritical fascism.

    That poor kid...

Why would that gay couple want their child to go to that school anyway where they would teach him that homosexuality is a sin?

What idiocy. Private schools can set their own admission standards, and they simply don't meet their standards. That's like trying to send one of my daughters to an all-boys school. Why would I even try?

I just love it when the homosexual cartel demonstrates how "tolerant " they are of other people's beliefs.

Looks to me like these two dudes planned to sue the school for something all along.

It's a shame they are allowed to sue anyone for anything. This is a new get rich quick scheme! Too bad when they meet their maker , Jesus, they won't be able to sue him for not letting them into heaven... if they don't get their act together. I say stop allowing them to sue and they will go away or out some cases on their organizations. Gay organizations i am sure would not allow heterosexuals around them....

It's as if that couple want the child to find out that his parents lifestyle choice is bad!

If he does go there teach the child how He condemns the gay lifestyles.

Yet another example of their penchant for using other peoples children as weapons in their quest to mandate acceptance of their decadent behavior.

Oppose their demands and they will hit you over the head with someone else's child.

The plaintiffs would have no case were it not for the preschool getting $60k+ in govt funds.

    @Will,

Where is it written that lawful U.S. citizens who, due to conscience, cannot accommodate depravity must be denied access to public funds?

It is the peoples government; not the governments people.

If this school were forced to accept this student because they received public funds and NM has a prohibition against sexual orientation discrimination, will they have to change the teaching of the school to accommodate this couple?

Like others, I suspect (almost certain) that this couple crafted this lawsuit on purpose. Why would they want the child taught that homosexuality is wrong? I'm guessing there is a plan for further action if the school must accept the child.

    Ash-

Why would a prescshool be teaching anything to kids about sexuality anyway? I thought you were against this in all cases.

    Chris,

Teaching children that the Bible says to "Honor your mother and father" is not to teach them about sexuality, but such a message might be as a maligning of families without a mother or father present.

*Correcting: "...might be seen as maligning of families..."
