Commission Opposes T-Shirt Company’s Refusal To Print Gay Pride Message

CitizenLink:

A Kentucky commission has announced its support of a gay and lesbian group suing a T-shirt company owned by a Christian man who declined to print the group’s shirts because the message, he said, violates his faith.

Blaine Adamson, who owns Hands On Originals (HOO) in Lexington, Ky., refused to print T-shirts for the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization (GLSO) in early March, because he disagreed with the “gay pride” message the group wanted printed on the shirts.

“I want the truth to come out — it’s not that we have a sign on the front door that says, ‘No Gays Allowed,’” Adamson said in a video posted on ADF’s website. “We’ll work with anybody. But if there’s a specific message that conflicts with my convictions, then I can’t promote that.”

The text on the shirts would have read: “Lexington Gay Pride,” and would include a list of sponsors of the event on the back of the shirt.

Adamson offered to direct GLSO to another business that could produce the shirts for the same price.

Instead, GLSO filed a complaint on March 28 against HOO with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission claiming that HOO violated a local ordinance based on sexual orientation.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorneys filed a response to GLSO’s complaint in April stating its claim of discrimination is unfounded, and that the complaint should be dismissed.

More intolerant tolerance from the homosexuals. Tolerate us or be sued. What a waste of taxpayer dollars. Time to reverse Lawrence v. Texas and get these mental cases the real help that they need: a good shrink and a set of morals.

I think I'll go shopping for a homosexual-owned T-shirt store and ask for a shirt that says, "Homosexuality is a sin," and see how quick that store will print my shirts.

Better yet, a shirt that says, "If you're Muslim, kill a homosexual." Then they'll really be torn.

This isn't about tolerance. It is about complete and total approval of homosexuality. And anyone whose views conflicts with those of these activists will have the government sicced on them. Hello 1984!

What amazes me is when homofascists compare their sexual sin to the civil-rights movement of African-American/black people. Skin color is morally benign, sexual behavior is either within the commandments of God, or outside of the commandments of God.

Mr. Adamson declined to print a message, just as he would decline to print certain imagery, hate messages, etc. I have to believe GLSO is smart enough to know the difference between refusing a customer and declining to print a message. It should be clear to anyone that this is simply harassment from GLSO.

Oh yeah...it doesn't hurt you until you disagree with it, at which point you will be the subject of lawsuits.

Tolerance is about accepting or putting up with different points of view, it doesn't mean you have to agree without question nor comply with them.

The fight for same-sex marriage was never about rights. If that were true then they would accept Civil Unions which in states like California grant ALL the same benefits/protections. This is about destroying our religious institutions. The left cries out about "separation of church and state" when a church gets involved with our culture, but are perfectly fine when a business owner who has religious faith is forced to violate his/her conscience.

I've never seen a subgroup so intent on suing people that don't accept them.

Ironically, the worldwide norm is to look down on (and distance oneself from) what they do, probably half the reason people think supporting the redefinition of marriage is the compassionate thing to do.

I hope they don't sue me now, now that I've published that I neither agree with, nor support, their litigiousness.

The homosexual special rights movement: Changing society one lawsuit at a time.
(Or was that several dozen lawsuits at a time.)

    Lovely.

The 1950's called. They don't want you using their outdated ignorant rhetoric anymore. Homosexuality is part of the normal spectrum of human sexuality. We've known that for decades.

Here's a clue: Straight people are immoral. Sexual orientation doesn't determine a person's morality. Do the names Newt Gingrich, Gov. Sanford, Tiger Woods, Eliot Spitzer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Herman Cain, John Edwards, David Petraeus, and on and on.

They probably targeted his shop just so they could sue him. Try to give the appearance they are powerful. But our God is greater. I like the t-shirt idea above, but the Bible does say vengeance belongs to God.

David in Houston said: "Homosexuality is part of the normal spectrum of human sexuality. We've known that for decades."

Sorry, David. Morality and normality don't change just because leftists decide to redefine the terms. Lots of kids these days are labeled "ADD" or "ADHD" or "autistic," but no one calls them normal because their parents want to help them; by their own standards, these kids will tell you that they are normal.

Similarly, homosexuals have decided that they want to embrace their mental disorder and so, through infiltration of psychological organizations, have managed to have the term "normal" redefined. When my aunt lost her mind to Alzheimer's, she thought she was normal too, ha, ha.

Those of is who have the clarity of mind to recognize what normal is - and using one's reproductive organs for bizarre same-sex recreation is not - know that homosexuality (and Alzheimer's) is a mental disorder. The inmates have taken over the asylum.

Btw, Lawrence was only decided a little over 10 years ago. Up to that point, not only was homosexuality recognized as an abnormality, it was deemed criminal.

Michelle, we can't sit idly by, turning the other cheek unless we want to get steamrolled. Look what just happened in the elections because we played "nice".

The seedy side of homosexuality is what they try to conceal and what we need to publically expose, loudly, and often.

Michelle - You are 100 percent correct on your statement. The gay activists have already shown that they have no problem targeting people who dont agree with their opinions just so they can sue and try to get others in trouble and that is one reason why I have no sympathy for the gay activists.

To be precise, some straight people are immoral. I wonder how many sexual partners David in Houston has had.

I have long argued that marriage law should be designed to protect innocent women in their relationships with men behaving badly. Note that every example David cites is a man behaving badly.

At least they aren't suing to make adultery morally acceptable or printing adultery pride t-shirts.

Overcame (didn't): "If you're Muslim, kill a homosexual."
Any reasonable, logical company should refuse to print such a shirt. It is not free speech it it advocates violence.
