Security Guard Shot at Family Research Council

We do not know who did this or why. Our heartfelt prayers go out to the injured security guard and all of the good people at the Family Research Council:

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins made the following comments after an FRC security guard was shot this morning:

“The police are investigating this incident. Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.”

The Washington Post is updating this story as more information becomes available.

My heart goes out to the brave guard that did his job and saves lives. It must be very dangerous to have to be the guard at a hate group that actually works to perpetuate and escalate the environment of hostility and violence gay kids face every day. Gay kids kill themselves with five times the frequency as straight kids - and the Family Research Council works hard to make sure that the bullies who attack these kids are motivated and supplied with lies and misinformation about homosexuals and homosexuality.

It is sad when people resort to violence. Those types of people are usually mentally deranged, however, and hear different inner voices than regular people. It will be interesting to hear more as the case unfolds.

Actually, the FRC works hard to educate all children as to the dangers of high risk sexual behavior, such as homosexual behavior. The real danger to kids are those who encourage or entice them into experimenting with sexual behavior before they are adults, married to an opposite sexed spouse, practicing monogamy. That's just common sense.

Yes, it is indeed hard to be a guard at a fine, upstanding organization dedicated to the preservation of our traditional values, in the face of hate mongering fascists whose moral depravity extends to shedding crocodile tears here.

My suggestion is that immediate and serious attention be paid to security measures for all groups standing up to what is now becoming an openly murderous gay fascist movement.

    Especially Churches.
