Torrence Police Arrest Man Charged With Vandalizing Chick-fil-A

LA Weekly:

Manny Castro, the self-described street artist who admitted he painted "Tastes Like Hate" on the side of a Torrance Chick-fil-A last week in response to the chicken empire's anti-gay-marriage stance, has been arrested, Torrance police tell the Weekly.

Sgt. Steven Jenkinson said Castro was collared in West Hollywood about 7 p.m. yesterday.

Castro is was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, according to Torrance police.

Although Castro admitted to the artwork in response to the Chick-fil-A CEO's stance against same-sex marriage, Torrance detectives say they developed independent evidence that leads to the provocateur.

Acts of violence and vandalism by so-called ss"m" supporters is precisely the reason why people lie when polled on the issue. These acts also turn people away from supporting ss"m". I know I'd lie if polled on the issue.

Excellent. Should be charged w/ a hate crime, since proponents of thought police want to play that game.

OK, fake Barb. You were amusing for a while but defaming another person is unlawful. Now it's time to move on to the scene of your next crime.

One barb always comes across like she hates the gays but doesnt want to admit it. The other one just says what the other one 'means'.

Back on topic. It is a good thing there are no hate crime protections for corporations. If there were, pretty much everyone except the politicians would be in jail.

Hope this guy enjoys his community service. Writing graffiti isn't a very big offense. It's a better job than working at chic fil a.

We'd just have to put together our own special interest group.

Then we can get hate crime laws adopted that increase the penalties for crimes committed when the motivation is the race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, COMMITMENT TO THE TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE, gender, or disability of the victim.

We've been the victims of crimes motivated by hatred.

The LA Weekly continues to spin the message ("in response to the chicken empire's anti-gay-marriage stance").

Nothing was said by Mr. Cathy (Chick-fil-a) about being anti-gay-marriage. He said he supports the biblical definition of marriage. It's the Left and the LGBT activists who insist on describing that as an "anti-gay" stance.

Since when is it "hate" to express one's sincerely held religious beliefs?

I don't see what the big deal is anyway about "gay" marriage. Proponents of "gay" marriage are always screaming about it being a civil right. Here's a bit of a news flash for the LGBT and anyone else pro-"gayr" marriage. Marriage isn't a Civil RIGHT for anyone, not even "straight" couples. It is not constatutionally gaurenteed to anyone.

Finally I'd like to pose a question for people to think about, can someone tell me why it is marriage between homosexual couples is called "gay" marriage yet marriage between hetersexual couples isn't called "straight" marriage? I think it's because marriage is marriage.

Lastly, the biggest issue I have with "gay" marriage is that i always feel like the LGBT community wants special treatment, to be designated as a new race or gender. homosexuality is a sexual proclivity and a social choice. Yes, choice. You can choose to act on your sexual urges or not, that is what makes us humans. For anyone in the "gay" community to argue otherwise means advicating a return of humanity to a state of being little more than animals, with no control over their baser urges.

It is our higher mental functions that allow us to choose whether or not to act on those urges. I think when the LGBT community stops acting like they are someone deserving of special treatment, it is then and only then that we should reconsider our definition of "traditional" marriage.
