Obama Still Quiet on Gay Marriage in Democrats' Platform

The Washington Times:

Democrats are asking supporters to "stand with" President Obama and the Democratic Party in solidarity on gay marriage — even though the White House and Mr. Obama's campaign repeatedly have declined to say whether the president supports efforts to write a gay-marriage plank in the party's platform.

...Mr. Obama earlier this year reversed himself and said he now embraces gay marriage, but the White House last week as well as the campaign declined to say whether the president supports adding the plank or whether doing so would hurt Democratic candidates in swing states.

The legitimacy of same sex marriage (SSM) depends on the assumption that men and women do not need each other, that millions of years of evolution of the different sexes developing alongside each other and depending on each other, developing complementary needs and strengths, can be ignored without any cost. It is about accepting the clearly nonsensical proposition that men and women are to some degree interchangeable, in that a man or woman could have sex with either and that either could do a job or fill a role as easily as the other could, but at the same time different in that it supposedly is reasonable for a man to prefer a man or a woman to prefer a woman. As for the assumption that women can do everything that men can do (with the unspoken but understood addendum they do it with less violence and create less harm), there is an unstated and unsupportable corollary that men can do everything women can do, which is obviously untrue as men cannot give birth and nurse. Many militant feminists believe they are so clever to set up such a frame for equality which actually demonstrates the superiority of women.

However, what if the interdependencies between men and women that developed over millions of years are so complex and so much a part of the interwoven fabric of human society that they can hardly be fully understood, much less safely ignored and dismissed? What if the social glue that holds together the web of interconnected human beings living together in a large group is dependent on the maintenance of some degree of trust of and affection for men by women and vice versa? What if this glue is dissolved? I believe that in such an event the greatest Pandora's box of all will be opened, and I suspect that those who legalize SSM will experience the ramifications of this in the coming years, though I doubt that many will ever consider SSM as the cause of their misery.

No matter how many years or decades that political correctness distorts reality, the truth remains the truth.

Obama is still quiet because of what he saw on August 1st, but you can count on him coming back with enough spin to counter his part in al of this.

Don't give the treasonous SOB a chance to breathe; never stop fighting until the fight is won.

Have the Republicans not stayed quiet on certain issues before the Convention, for strategic reasons? Has the nominee refused to disclose tax returns, a practice introduced by his father, for instance (not a glowing example of following family values)?

Smart move for the TOTUS to keep his mouth shut.

To Harry Reid, who hasn't released his own tax returns: pot, meet kettle.

Many of our legislators have off-shore accounts. Another smart move b/c TOTUS wants all their money.

Romney's rich. Good for him. He worked for it. I wish I was that rich. He gives millions to charity.

Barb, please tell me what legislators have off shore accounts. Please be specific.

Harrry Reid is not asked to release his tax returns but he does a Yearly report of where his money comes from.

Romney took money from the Contras that raped and killed nuns. Bought into a company that took care of aborted corpses. And believes he gets a planet with his wifes when he dies...

    Obama 12.

Mitt Romney has one supreme advantage, that he is not Barack Obama.

If Obama were reelected, then the destruction of marriage, and the indoctrination of schoolchildren in homosexualist anti-values would spread nationwide (see related, shocking story of six-gender "role playing" indoctrination exercises for pupils in Canada).

    Vote accordingly.

Or the modification of K-12 history books, in California, to add transsexual and homosexual role models for the children to admire -- for indoctrination purposes -- necessarily crowding out other history that may be more worthy of inclusion. And the elimination of anything that "reflects adversely" on:

    * People that have had their healthy breasts or sex organs cut off.
    * Men that have anal sex with men.
    * Women that have had foreplay with women.

    @Rover Serton,

Harry Reid has a reported fortune in excess of $10 million U.S.,; yet he's reported average salary for his twenty-five years in Washington is $143k per. So how did mister read amass a fortune in excess of $10 million when he had only worked in the private sector for one year prior to his gig in Washington and where he was paid a combined $3.6 million over twenty-five years before taxes?

You folks need to pay less attention to destroying the family and more to those pimping your agenda in Washington.
