3 Recent Examples of Pro-SSM Intolerance and Hate Backfiring

The intolerance and hate of many pro-SSM activists began to backfire this week.

First, Adam Smith, a former CFO and treasurer for manufacturer Vante uploaded a video of himself verbally harassing a courteous Chick-fil-A employee:

His employer, Vante, let him go immediately after being made aware of his activities and issued the following statement:

The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.

We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.

This is position which echoes that of NOM's corporate fairness project. And the video above has already been viewed over 750,000 times, so word is getting out.

Second, proponents of redefining marriage attempted yesterday to launch a counter-protest against the wildly successful Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day with some activism of their own: a "kiss-in". Those efforts have already been marred, the Los Angeles Times reports, by "Tastes Like Hate" graffiti being scrawled on a Chick-fil-A location in Terrence, CA:

Third, this pattern of harassing Chick-fil-A's ability to do business was already set earlier in the week when a group of pro-SSM halted the grand opening of a Chick-fil-A location in Laguna Hills, CA:

Examples of pro-SSM hate and intolerance like these are a reminder that we need to stay vigilant to demand that our rights to believe and support biblical marriage are not silenced by the other side.

Together, united, they can't drown out or silence our voice!

I find it interestig that the Media have given the homosexual protest so much press before the event even happens and that there was little or no mention of the appreciation day until ti was obviously a tremendous amount of support for the Cathy's..however, that is what Americans have come to expect from this liberal media..so much for fairness and truth in reporting.

Christians, stand strong. Let God's love shine through like a beacon.

I've been told many times "10% of the population is gay"...well that means 90% of the population is not.

Typical behaviour from the SSM Brigade.

They'll attack Christians verbally and physically because they think they can get away with it.

They'll demand they get "rights" they have no intention of wishing to use or fulfill.

They'll bully and intimidate corporations to adhere to their views & expect them to fire employees who object to the changes.

Arrogance has no boundaries with these people. I'd love to see them take on Halal chains in America; they'll be very sorry to try that.

I hope the Chick-fil-a employee in the video with that Adam creep gets a promotion or some other type of recognition for remaining so courteous and for being a fine example of Christian love. I happen to agree with all that she said, but I gotta tell you that being a retired Marine, I would have handled this hate filled Adam wimp a little differently. God bless her and the company she works for. Champions for what is good and right.

Oh, so it's fine to generalize an entire cause by the actions of... three people. Well, this sure makes arguing easier, since now we can just point to a few people and declare that the entire group that supports their values is "militant" and "hateful".

Matthew Shephard, 21, was tortured to death in 1998 for being gay.

Charlie Rogers, 33, was tortured in her own home and only narrowly escaped being burnt to death. Her basement was vandalized with anti-gay slurs.

Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, and Mary Christine Chapa, 18, were shot in the head in 2012 at a Texas park. Olgin died.

Oddly enough, when I look for "murdered for being Christian", there are certainly similar stories... in other countries. Maybe there is a war going on about expression of religious belief. But it's not going on here. On the contrary, while opponents can certainly say that instead of marriage equality, we should be focusing on the basic human rights of LGBT individuals in Saudi Arabia (a valid point), it still remains that in -this- country, we are still being killed and tortured for what we are.

As a final note, some will probably point out that in the case of the couple shot in the head in a Texas park, no suspect has been named and the incident has not been declared a hate crime; ergo, it would be irresponsible of me to declare that the attack was necessarily perpetrated by a member of the Christian right. Isn't it also the case, then, that attributing blame to the vandalism could be considered premature?

"Someone" vandalized a Chick-fil-a in California. "Someone" also shot a teen couple in the head in Texas. I wonder which one is more important, leaving aside the political affiliations of the perpetrators.

So, if I understand you correctly, Andy, we must set aside the First Amendment in the case of a self-identified class which has suffered alleged victimization?

    Chump, not a chance.

We have laws for the people who shoot, assault, or otherwise predate upon others.

We simply will not allow marriage to be destroyed on the basis of hysterical attempts to hornswoggle us into believing marriage somehow had anything whatever to do with these crimes.

    Fail, Andy.

We've figured your scam out and we will see you in November.

Mr. Peters omits quite a bit of the rest of the story:

    1. Mr. Smith is not only heterosexual, but the father of 4 kids (including 2 adopted special needs children).

    2. Mr. Smith can't go home because his address was publicized and he and his family are getting death threats.

    3. Gay bloggers and others on the left have been almost unanimously critical of what Mr. Smith did (BTW they have roundly condemned the vandalism as well).

    4. Mr. Smith has already posted a video apology for what he did.

Personally, I think what he did was pretty stupid, and the girl working the window didn't deserve any of that. But the bottom line is that Mr. Smith was fired from his job for expressing a personal opinion about same-sex marriage on his own time. Isn't this what your side keeps complaining about when anything remotely similar happens to your own supporters?

The tragedy of this whole thing is that none of it should have happened. There is no need for same sex "marriage". Never has been. It's just what some homosexuals want ... today. And they don't care what happens in their pursuit of this current fad.

They need to take a lot of the blame for encouraging the liberals to go out and make fools of themselves. The whole water protest was idiotic from the get-go. If they were denied a water, they were supposed to quote Proverbs 25:21 - "If thy enemy be hungry, give him to eat: if he thirst, give him water to drink: " as if a proverb is a command and if they didn't get their water they would prove CFA to be hypocrites...? But then the next verse is: "For thou shalt heap hot coals upon his head, and the Lord will reward thee." Well, the protesters got hot coals heaped on their heads. Duh! I wonder if they've learned their lesson not to use the Bible against believers.

I don't believe that anyone should be bullied, much less lose their lives for their opinions or their lifestyles, so long as it it is not a threat to others. I support Biblical marriage, and no one is likely to change my belief.

Gay extremists have been bullying society for far too long and inventing a lot of fairy-tales about how they are always victimized. They twist everything to make themselves look like the victims. Hooray that at last the silent majority is rousing itself to tell the nutcases to shut the hell up! The truth is that endless hate and intolerance are being spread by gay fanatics who want to take over the whole world.
This Smith guy on the video did NOT just express a personal opinion, he insulted, harangued and abused an innocent woman in an appalling manner. I am glad he was sacked and I hope that Anthony Piccola will also be sacked for crawling and grovelling to the gay bullies.
This factor will decide the next Presidential election and true marriage WILL WIN.

By the way, there is no proof at all the the motives for the murder of the teen couple in Texas was connected with their sexual orientation. You are jumping to conclusions.
Statistically, homosexuals are far more likely to be beaten or murdered by other homosexuals than they are by heterosexuals.

I have personally witnessed the way that homosexuals inflict physical attacks, death threats, abuse and public stigmatization on anybody who dares to cast doubt on even the smallest part of their dogmas and agenda. It is vicious! They form lynch mobs and they deliberately get good people sacked from their jobs. They do a lot of harm and they have very nasty minds.
They bullied Donald Perry of Chick-fil-A to death! An RAF servicemen here was killed for refusing homosexual advances, labelled homophobe and beaten up then hanged.
Yes, I hope this Chick-fil-A affair is the tipping point, it is long overdue.

All they have to do is to prove Chick-Fil-A is anti-'gay'. Is someone anti-'gay', by definition, if he or she does not believe in 'he or she'? Or if we don't give one particular 'gay' or 'lesbian' what they want? If a child doesn't get what he/she wants, they put up a temper tantrum. As they get older they start saying you 'hate' them when they don't get what they want.

History of discrimination? Guess what: Christians have an even longer and worse history of discrimination - that's what led to the US Constitution's 1st Amendment, on religious liberty and freedom to EXERCISE one's religion. People are even exempt from going to war for religious profession - called a conscientious objector. Christians were thrown to the lions in Rome, Christian property was taken away (confiscated). All Christian leaders (including Jesus) were put to death, except the Apostle John, according to history or tradition. If anyone wants to talk about being discriminated, let's talk about how Christians have been persecuted and what led to the religious freedom of the USA, an incredible social and political experiment not found even when the Roman Constantino converted to Christianity - he made Christianity the government's preferred religion - which is not freedom of religion. Even atheists have freedom of religion, because they constitute a religion under the guise of secularism. Let's call things what they are, and go from there. Only then can there be progress and not regress.

You're certainly making a lot of political hay about those three examples, Andy. The most commonly used one is the Matthew Shepard incident, even though it had occurred 14 years ago. That only goes to show how hard it is to find many examples of anti gay persecution in this country for you to exploit.

One incident that comes to mind occurred in 2006 when a gay man named William Smithson made sexual advances toward another man named Jason Shephard, which he rejected. Smithson later strangled Shephard to death for that. I wonder why the media never mad a big deal over that murder?

Not to mention the significant number of homosexual serial killers that have plagued this country's history from Jeffery Dahlmer to John Wayne Gacy. Yet, I never hear any of them used to hate on gays.

Face it, Andy. This is not about civil rights but rather special rights that are used to compromise and negate all of the REAL civil rights found in the US Constitution. This blog posts articles that confirms it almost every day.

You pretty much missed my point. In short, no, you do not understand me correctly. In order: re-read my post, drop the derogatory remarks like "chump", "fail", and "scam", and then we can have a conversation.

    @Son of Adam

I don't know if you just stopped reading my post or what, but the reason I cited Matthew Shepard was exactly why you say: he's the most commonly cited, therefore, the most instantly recognizable. Had you continued reading, you might have noticed that the other three victims were attacked -this year-. It doesn't "[go] to show how hard it is to find many examples". I'm writing a response, not my own article; therefore, brevity is a virture. If you insist that I list more, I'll oblige, though I assure you that you can find them on your own.

As to the serial killers: You only list two! I guess that speaks to how hard it is to find examples of homosexual serial killers.

This is about civil rights, and gay marriage will not negate constitutional rights. Consider: the ACLU, often viewed as an ally of the gay community, recently rebuffed a few pro-gay mayors, because they made the (ridiculous) assertion that because of a COO's personal beliefs, a company could be denied a building permit or permission to do business. Major pro-gay organizations also recognize that the mayors were wrong-headed. Cathy's remarks are protected free speech, and nobody (of any credibility) would seek to deny his right to say them. Which is not to say we would rather he not.

Just because interracial marriage is now legal, does not mean it is -illegal- to speak out against it. You -right- to espouse anti-gay views in church and on the streets is now and will be protected. The law won't punish you, but your fellow citizens might be wary of associating with you.

Just because you have the right to say something does not mean you -are- right to say it. But you and I both have the same right to free speech. It's only other rights that we don't share, namely, to marry the person that we love.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Internal documents from the Boy Scouts of America reveal more than 125 cases in which men suspected of molestation allegedly continued to abuse Scouts, despite a blacklist meant to protect boys from sexual predators.

A Los Angeles Times review (http://lat.ms/OT9zx5) of more than 1,200 files from 1970 to 1991 found suspected abusers regularly remained in the organization after officials were first presented with sexual misconduct allegations.

Predators moved from troop to troop because of clerical errors, computer glitches or the Scouts' failure to check the blacklist, known as the "perversion files," the newspaper said.

In at least 50 cases, the Scouts expelled suspected abusers, only to discover they had re-entered the organization and were accused of molesting again.

In other cases, officials failed to document reports of abuse in the first place, letting offenders stay in the program until new allegations came to light, the Times reported.

One scoutmaster was expelled in 1970 for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in Indiana. After being convicted of the crime, he went on to join two troops in Illinois between 1971 and 1988. He later admitted to molesting more than 100 boys, was convicted of the sexual assault of a Scout in 1989 and was sentenced to 100 years in prison, according to his file and court records.

In 1991, a Scout leader convicted of abusing a boy in Minnesota returned to his

Andy, simply typing "homosexual serial killers" in a google search will reveal far more such predators than two, I assure you.

And if you want to convince people that gays are a persecuted minority in this country, you will have to do more than cite an incident that occurred over a decade ago, because all the recent murders of gays I have been able to find have happened in middle eastern and African countries under Sharia law where homosexuality is illegal and is punishable by death - usually by stoning! And you're bemoaning the CEO of CFA for expressing his religious beliefs about the natural family? How petty can you get?

And who decides what is the right thing to say? You? Who does not even have the moral clarity to distinguish between racism and family values? I have heard of some lame attempts to discourage free speech before, but this really takes the cake!

The antics of these mayors only goes to show the fascist attitudes of SS"M" activists like yourself who forget that the first amendment applies to everyone and are so intolerant to diversity of views different to theirs, they demonize them by comparing them to racism. I do not want the US government to adopt the same hostile attitude against the values that support the natural family that you and others constantly display here on a daily basis.

And no, I do not have the right to marry the anyone I love. No one does. That includes people who are already married, relatives, and people who are just not interested.

    If:

    2) He apologized
    3) You think what he did was stupid and misdirected

Then why do you say it's a case where a person was fired merely for "expressing a personal opinion about same-sex marriage on his own time"?

Do you think Smith should have apologized for expressing his opinion on his own time? Were gay bloggers right to criticize him for expressing his opinion? A lot of celebrities and politicians have done the same; should they be unanimously criticized? Do you think a person is "stupid" to express their opinion in favor of ssm on their own time? Should a person be fired for tweeting in support of "marriage equality," in the same way as Damian Goddard, because you see the situation as "similar" to Smith's?

I'm confident you're not referring to the Facebook posting incidents since there's obviously no comparison between those and someone going out of their way to harass someone while on the job by a drive-thru window. So, please cite examples where marriage defenders are harassing SSM proponents at their jobs.

Hank and Married, there is no hate if you accept Christ in your life and live accordingly. 32 states have shown what the people know about marriage. Did you see the turn out at Chic-Fil-A? Just the majority of people standing up for marriage and protecting real families.

This example, and the examples provided by commenters with their links, are far too common. When SSMers think they have the upperhand, this is what they do and say -- with gusto.

Some SSMers are more timid than others. Note the crowds of supportive standersby who did not intervene with objections. Why, for example, did none of those SSMers not help the homeless preacher rub out the chalked nonsense? Perhaps their timidity is prompted by the gusto of the mockers.

Ridicule is the weapon of first resort when SSMers think others are silently in agreement with their rants and absurdities.

    Chairm,

On the other thread, you asked me whether I saw a video of the preacher being beaten. I haven't seen it.

For some reason, I can't post there.

Can you give me a link to the video?
