LSN: Democrat Admits, ‘Attack on Parental Rights’ is ‘the Whole Point’ of Banning Sex Orientation Therapy

Ben Johnson of LifeSiteNews:

The author of a California bill that would forbid minors from seeking therapy to overcome unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction has admitted his intention was to undermine parental rights.

State Senator Ted Lieu wants to undercut parental rights.

State Senator Ted Lieu wants to undercut parental rights.

“The attack on parental rights is exactly the whole point of the bill, because we don’t want to let parents harm their children,” said State Senator Ted Lieu, D-Torrance.

Senate Bill 1172 would ban anyone under 18 from receiving reparative or sexual orientation conversion therapy, even if requested by the teens or their parents. The bill would label the treatment “unprofessional conduct” and “therapeutic deception.”

The bill passed the state Senate in June. It is now being considered in the state Assembly.

After likening the therapy to allowing children to smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol, the 43-year-old Taiwanese-born legislator said, ““We have these laws to stop parents from hurting their kids. Preventive therapy hurts children, so this bill allows us to stop parents from hurting their children.”

First they encourage kids to question their orientation in public schools, then they make it illegal to get therapy for what's been forced on them.

Makes perfect sense to the insane.

The 80 to 97 percent of our children who are “not born that way” can easily be educated to find sexual pleasure that way (unless the parent is allowed to say “no” in one form or another). Our commercial world (and national education system) is being given full authority to teach and encourage our children to try these new forms of “healthy entertainment”. (“I kissed a girl and I liked it, hope my boyfriend don't mind it” being sung by a high-school girl [so it sounds], playing over the load speakers of your local family restaurant, being just the beginning of a commercial corporate free for all frenzy toward manipulating our kids toward new and never before explored financial gains.)
And during this time the parents will not have the right to educate their children (the 80 to 97 percent who are “not born that way”) to focus their sexual energies toward the opposite sex.

The whole nation can teach, force, pressure, encourage our children to learn algebra, spelling, chemistry, carpentry, all unnatural things that need concerted community effort, guidance and encouragement; but we will not be allowed to encourage in the slightest our children to stick to opposite sex sexual relationships, without coming across as being poor and abusive parents; who probably need their children taken away from them.

What in the world are our armies doing over seas? We need them more then ever right here fighting to save us, from our own corrupted government and its money loving West and its banks! And not somewhere on the other side of the glob fighting for Wall Street and company's own personal gains.

Help to protect the 80 to 97 percent of our children who “where not born that way” from being sexually abused, and confused, by the United States Government, Wall Street, the City of London, the powers that be.

    Nice job, NOM.

The mask is slipping, more and more.

The homosexualist radicals are at war with parents, with marriage, with families, and most disturbing of all, with children.

Simply can't let these deceivers win.

Rick you have nailed it on the head. Thank you to all of you on these NOM pages for intelligently commenting and standing up for true marriage.
I remember a commercial in 2008 during Prop 8 saying that the Gays want nothing to do with teaching the children in schools about thier lifestyle. We now have 8 new mandates in the public schools teaching our children about homosexuality. We knew it was inevitable because it was and is happening in Mass.
And we keep being told by the radicals that there is "no Gay agenda". Liars.

I find it hypocritical when people think it's horrible to attempt to change sexual orientation but condone the physical mutilation to change sex.

Soon the militant extremists will make it illegal to teach children right from wrong.

Am you bring up an interesting point, albeit a false one.

Nobody I've ever met has said it is a good idea to give children gender reassignment surgery. The traditional practice used to be if a child was born with both genitalia the parent chose which organ to remove at birth and they just had to hope they guessed right. These days children's experts recommend letting the child grow up until they develop their own gender identity, then to make the right surgical correction.

I've never heard of a child with an unambiguous gender having a sex change. That doesn't even make sense.

"I find it hypocritical when people think it's horrible to attempt to change sexual orientation but condone the physical mutilation to change sex."

The discussion of 'sex change' operations act as though sex is actually being changed, when the reality is far different.

"Sex change" operations are permanent sterilization. You are permanently destroying the reproductive apparatus without replacing it. There is no replacement of the actual reproductive apparatus that has been destroyed. To permanently sterilize children is extreme and unequivocal medical harm. The children are too young to give informed consent to their being rendered sterile.

"Sex change" operations that render children permanently sterile are emphatically criminal under *current* law, although current law is emphatically not enforced.

You point out a distinction I hadn't considered. Clearly the two are not similarly situated, medically or ethically. Thanks.

    Homosexuality doesn't make sense, MGC.

Certainly there are very few absurdities ever concocted in all of human history, that make less sense than gay "marriage".

"Nobody I've ever met has said it is a good idea to give children gender reassignment surgery."

But they are doing some drastic and invasive procedures...

Quite false. The media advocates for it, when young children have none of the physical issues you suggest.

Here you have identical twins, minor children. No physical abnormalities at all. One is undergoing a process of sterilization. The reproductive system is destroyed but and is never replaced with any working reproductive system at all. How can young children legally consent to their own permanent sterilization? Of course they cannot.

Blurk got it wrong. The CA legislator proposes to outlaw therapy reuqested. This is not about forcing therapy on the patient. It is about the arbitrary use of governmental power to impose the supremacy of gay identity politics over and above all other considerations.
