LSN: Bakery Sees Business Boom After 'Gay Wedding Cake' Refusal

Thaddeus Baklinski of LifeSiteNews:

The owner of a cake shop in Lakewood, Colorado said that, following a refusal to provide a wedding cake for a homosexual couple his business has more than doubled.

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, told local media that this wasn’t the first time he had turned away homosexuals seeking wedding cakes, but it is the first time his stand for Christian principles has resulted in so much media attention and some death threats.

Phillips explained that since 1993 the family owned and operated business has refused about half-a-dozen requests for same-sex wedding cakes. However, on Sunday he said he was forced to call police because of several death threats over the latest refusal.

The situation developed on July 19 when two homosexuals entered the shop and announced they were getting “married” in Massachusetts and wanted to order a wedding reception cake for their reception in Colorado. When Phillips refused, one of the pair, 28-year-old Dave Mullins, is reported to have said, “F*** you and your homophobic cake shop,” and directed an obscene gesture at the owner before leaving.

Boy, you can really see the "tolerance" of the left when they react to someone who refuses to endorse a same-sex union.

Ok, well, we're seeing business doubling for this bakery that supports the biblical definition of marriage. We're seeing incredible record turnout for Chick-Fil-A (I mean just look at those pics coming in from across the country!!) and we're seeing the stock stangant and falter of JCP, GIS, and SBUX. Hmmm....could there possibly be any pattern here?
    Any common thread?

C'mon American businesses, when are you going to get it and realize the vast majority of American people want you to stand up for what is right and will reward you when you do! So what's it going to be? Do you want your business to excel or falter?

Ya, and while you're at it, make more family friendly movies! Seriously. What is it about people in hollywood that they love to push smut?

Nobody's denying that haters show up in force to support their brethren in bigotry.

Another religionist acting like a child. Sigh. An where in the bible does it say you can't provide a wedding cake to a wedding reception? Or is this just another act of homophobia masquerading as religionism?

Isn't refusing service in a place of public accommodation anti-American?

Just the opposite Steven. Freedom to act according to conscience is very American. Perhaps even uniquely so.

Greg, why do you hate America and freedom so much?

Sounds like typical behavior from homosexual militants...the cursing and namecalling.

In school I read about the booming business segregated lunch counters did when their racist supporters kept them going.

This cake shop might as well hang a sign outside that says 'straights only'.

There is nothing biblical about hate.

Except, MarriedGayChristian, they do serve customers regardless of gay identity.

Focus. The issue is marriage. The conflict is a conflict between the SSM idea and the marriage idea. This directly implicates the issue of freedom of conscience.

Try not to be misled by the hockers of gay identity politics. They are manipulating sentiment for the sake of crass political advantage. Nothing more. Nothing less.

No, MGC. There is nothing biblical about racism. And there is a difference between that and family values.
