NOM's Peters Reacts to News of Democrats Embracing SSM in Their Platform

OneNewsNow:

"...Thirty-two states have defined marriage as between one man and one woman, prohibiting recognition of marriage in any other form. Thomas Peters of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) tells OneNewsNow that President Obama and his party are apparently forgetting that.

"He's reopening a can of worms that the voters in these states all kind of conclusively settled for themselves," he says. "And one of our big points is that obviously if the Democrats have their way, all of the marriage amendments passed in [those states and] certainly Florida and other swing states are in jeopardy."

NOM president Brian Brown believes the Democratic Party "has been captured by extremists ... like Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi who are determined to redefine marriage" in America. Peters says that being the case, the question for rank-and-file Democrats is what place they have at the table.

"It seems that the person who sort of leaked this news is [Massachusetts Congressman] Barney Frank," says Peters. "It's coastal liberals in states like California, New York, and Massachusetts that are more and more shaping the direction of the Democrat Party [sic], leaving behind Democrats with social conservative values."

Pelosi, Frank, Obama and their ilk are post-Constitution socialists. They may not even know it themselves b/c they're so removed from reality.

Real Americans know it, however. And we happen to be quite fond of our country. That's why this upcoming election is quickly turning into the perfect storm that'll make 2010 look tame.

They'll never know what hit 'em.

The link to the article has lots of comments that wouldn't get through the automatic NOMblog moderator filters (per both sides of the issue).

You can see what NOMblog comment threads would be like were it not for a daily live moderator volunteer.

We don't gain anything by being offensive to those of 'gay' persuasion. They are trapped in their sect. At least we can discuss matters over comment threads.

But when logic offends someone else, we should put it nicely, and start from common ground (not that i always do).

We Christians are commanded to be 'expedient', meaning practical, by the Apostle Paul, and not be dogmatic. It's really hard...

But we live now in a democracy, so we are also commanded (instructed, for our own good?) to testify to the truth.

We cannot fight evil with evil. It doesn't work, said Jesus. Fight evil with good. It takes time and we need to sacrifice ourselves daily, but it works. Aloha.

No way the Democrat Party (not to be confused with democratic party) is going to accept putting same-sex marriage (note not homosxual act marriage) on their part platform.

That's why they are proposing it, so when it gets dropped the proponents can say "Well, we tried, but the Republicans got in the way", as always. It's politics within politics. Accepted brain-wash. Amazing!
