NY City Council Speaker Chistine Quinn Calls on NYU to Oust Chick-fil-A

One step further -- New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn (who is in a same-sex marriage) calls on New York University to shut down their existing Chick-fil-A location:

This morning, however, Ms. Quinn’s office sent out a press release announcing a petition calling on the president of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy, to apologize for his “repugnant and un-American” comments and discriminatory views.

But what’s more, Ms. Quinn is requesting the removal of the one Chick-fil-A restaurant in all of New York City.

“I urge you to sever your relationship with the Chick‐fil‐A establishment that exists on your campus,” she wrote in a letter to the president of New York University. “This establishment should be replaced with an establishment where the ownership does not denigrate a portion of our population.”

Supporting true marriage does not "denigrate" homosexuals. You have to come to grips with the FACT that opposite sex couples are DIFFERENT from same-sex couples. Once you grasp that fact, then you can understand why the institution is what it is.

It's really not that hard to understand.

If you look at bradley Manning and you see that gays are destroying the country.

You declared war. This is war. Don't like it? You have only yourselves to blame. Quit your whining.

    This is outrageous! Very disturbing...
I honestly think that marriages supporters are being perceive by the other side as pushovers....These people have taken the SSM marriage debate to a new level. When will we start fighting back on their level??

Redefining marriage denigrates children, mothers, fathers and the institution itself.

Ms. Quinn needs a rabies shot, along with a few tranquilizers.

"If you look at bradley Manning and you see that gays are destroying the country."

The anger of the sodomites is a powerful thing. Which is ironic for a group that labels themselves as "gay." Although they seem to believe that once they have achieved their perception of "equality" by destroying marriage and whatever other goals they have beyond that, what they don't realize is that their angers stems not from a lack of equality, but from being different; from not having the normal human instinct to reproduce and perpetuate the species; from being relegated to imitating normal human sexual behavior and imitating other behaviors of heterosexuals. Noe of that changes, not even if they do destroy the country.

I urge you and your homosexual friend to sever your relationship with the word “marriage”. This establishment of yours should be given a name that does not denigrate a portion of the population by denying a unique word to that population that could be used to uniquely identify a thing that is precious to them, the opposite-sex union.
If you're so proud of your union – find a unique name for it. We're proud of the opposite-sex union (without any prejudice) precisely because it is a human-being uniting to the OPPOSITE-sex. To take that aspect away from the definition of marriage is to do grievous, hateful and violent harm and hurt to innocent bystanders.
Why does your union have to create such havoc and destruction? Where's all that love?

I call on you to shut down your so called same-sex “marriage”. Until you find a word to name it, and you learn to respect your fellow citizens.

Oh, the lawsuit gets sweeter and sweeter.

If Chick Fil A were publicly traded, I'd be buying :-)

Is it "denigrating a portion of our population" to also be against murder and stealing? You aren't what you do. People are people, they can only denigrate themselves by their actions.

Just bullying. I can't see this as anything less than bullying. Too bad that those in power feel they have to stoop this low. Everyone has the right to their opinion. Why can't SSMers respect others' right to disagree with their political positions?

    To all NOMers:
We are at WAR...a different type of war on morality. Until we realize this fact, we are just delaying the inevitable to fight back on their level, not to just fight but to win and end the social dispute ... Your thoughts?

Isn't this just another example of someone 'IN' government using their position to bully someone else with an opposing preference? Where has she been for the last week!

Yeah! Kick Chick-Fil-A out of the University campus in NY city, so then they can use some of their corporate funds to sue the 'pants' off the city. The NY city council just sits there and lets this person voice her free speech promoting breaking the law, so as to castigate a corporation for having the nerve to use their free speech. Will city New Yorkeans also just sit there and let it happen? Maybe they are too busy waiting for a Yellow Cab.

OvercameSSA: you say: 'from not having the normal human instinct to reproduce and perpetuate the species' Yet, how do we know scientifically they do not have that instinct? Of course, they do. Are you saying that all those who profess to be of homosexual persuasion don't have that instinct? How would that be proven scientifically? Some so-called 'lesbians' do have that instinct - they do reproduce. See, civil marriage is not about reproduction. It is about optimal reproduction as a protection for those being 'produced' - the children. What is missing in some is not the drive for reproduction, necessarily. What is missing is the instinct of protection for the human young. That leads to people saying 'I don't care' when it comes to optimizing children's (or the unborn's) well-being statistically. So, we've mentioned a few concepts too difficult to understand for many: instinct, statistics, optimization, and morality ('should be'). Since most people cannot really understand these concepts (or they don't care to, out of prejudice), the matter of 'glad' civil marriage cannot be explained to them. The only recourse is then to vote on it, and hope for the best. Same-sex partnerships are called 'friendships', not 'marriage' in secular society. If people equate the two, it's the beginning of confusion.

Little man, how do "lesbians" reproduce? And what about gays/M&M relationships, do they have the normal human instinct to reproduce? Not trying to make you look bad, just trying to better understand your argument or point @ 14.

That NY politician is a segregationist who favors the supremacy of gay identity politics. On that basis he would require Government to treat all of NY City as a progay water fountain.

Pushing that bigotry is not merely a means to a supposedly benign end. It is the end to which that NY politician' means are oriented. Niether that end nor those means are justified outside of gay identity politics. Both end and means are antithetical to liberty and social peace.
