Brad Pitt's Mother Target of Liberal Hate After Letter Supporting Marriage

The Examiner:

Jane Pitt, the mother of actor Brad Pitt, was the target of hateful and misogynistic tweets from pro-abortion liberals after the Springfield News-Leader published her letter supporting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Twitchy reported Friday.

Gawker painted her as a "loon," but liberals on Twitter went overboard.

... "Once again, the Left’s revolting intolerance of conservative free speech is on display for all the world to see. Let’s hope Jane Pitt answers with even louder, bolder speech," Twitchy added.

...A post at Buzzfeed noted that in 2008, Brad Pitt donated $100,000 to fight California's Proposition 8. While he may differ with his mother's point of view, he still thinks highly of her.

"She's very, very loving — very open, genuine, and it's hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil. There's not an ounce of malice in her. She wants everyone to be happy," the actor said of his mother in January.

The left is only tolerant if you agree with them. Tolerance and civility are myths within their ranks.

Agreed. Just look at the right's responses to the Obamacare ruling. There are extremists on both sides.

I'm shocked...SSMers, yet again, respond with hate to a person who dares to speak out.

But at least they went wild on Twitter and didn't send her messages directly--or so I'm assuming from reading the article.

    No hate there, right?

Who started this whole anti-gay nonsense? Where did the thought come from that gays are not equal human beings? Who are the ones that cannot tolerate equality? Who is standing in the way of gays of not being acknowledged as equal human beings? Who are the ones who want to view gays as less than themselves? Who are the people that are saying that gays are destroying society? Who says the gays will be the end of humanity? Who is responsible for anti-gayness? Who is raking in millions of dollars to prevent equality for all. Who are the people that think it is ok to vote against civil rights?

It's hard to believe such vitriol directed toward someone for calmly expressing her opinion on an important issue.

If it weren't for tranquilizers, sedatives and antidepressants some of these folks would be truly dangerous.

True. But I'm not talking about conservatives disagreeing, I'm talking about people in general. If anyone dares to disagree with the left, they are tarred and feathered.

People who have gay relatives and friends in loving relationships who support s-s civil marriage should boycott this site. The vitriolic hate from NOMers now runs so deep that there is absolutely no chance of a dialogue.

Gay people are attacked as sodomites, perverts, disease ridden, haters, destroyers of families. If we boycott and stop posting any opposition then they will get tired of hearing their own rants and self congratulatory postings and start sharing lovely verses from scripture.

Without s-s supporters this website will be as exciting as a church bulletin. Besides we only serve NOM's purpose in firing up their zealots to get them to donate more.

Its not to late to grow up 'Brad'. Mom isn't trying to save the world. She's not putting her neck out in a sling for the sake of humanity. Mom's doing it for something much more precious than that; she's doing it for you - her child! Her baby.
Listen to your mother's words. It will bring to the boy, a man. Free. Freed from the acclimation of the crowd, from the gaze of the hungry admirer, from the wine of acceptance; and finally able to sit at the feet of truth, in peace, far from the fear of loss,“I have become a man.”

Thank you again biological moms. Thank you again biological dads. Thank you biological parents; faithful, loyal, sacrificing, giving. Thinking not of yourself first, but of your child. Thank you for doing the best that you can. Whether it be grand or simple, eloquent or awkward, a success or a struggle, united or broken - we need you! Mom and Dad. More than ever.
After the man and woman have become one... The three become one. The four become one. The five, the six... The family becomes one.
Thank you, life! Truth, reality! Beauty!
May it come to pass, that there be a word, to name your modest union. Not to stand out in the world, but to stand out for a child. My own, my blood. Marriage.

Why don't troll over to Huffingtonpost "Gay Voices" and spew your garbage. We have values/morals on this site, and will not approve of sexual deviant behavior. Homosexuality falls into the same category as other sexual deviant behavior (bestiality, pedophilia, polygamy, etc). It was a heterosexual relationship that brought you into this world; now you turn your back and blaspheme on something that gave you life. SMDH

OK, so why isn't Mr. Pitt a little more forthcoming in standing up for people to respect his mother. I think she deserves a little more from him than having her son think "it's funny she's called a she-devil." He should be infuriated that people will talk about her that way!

What's so bad about a threat? There's a saying: 'The dog that barks, doesn't bite.'

I mean: a threat is a warning. I'd rather have a warning than an actual violent act. A warning puts me on the defensive. A threat is only as powerful as you let it be. Name calling? We are not queers, to care about that.

Terrorists use threats to frighten people. Why? Because people get frightened easily. But threats are good, because they warn us from where the violence might come. Which helps us impede the violence itself.

Threats are good. Let them come. They are stupid. They reveal the true nature of the opposition.

The last time I checked, there is no ban on a gay individual who wishes to be married. When one applies for a marriage license, there is no requirement to divulge one's sexual orientation or political identity, including that of "gay."

Bride-groom marriage presumes all have the same human nature, and so it presumes equality.
