Michigan is considered a state in play this November in the Presidential race. Obama's support of same-sex marriage isn't doing him any favors there among Independent voters:
President Barack Obama's support of gay marriage has not translated into more backing from Michigan voters overall, a new poll shows, and four in 10 self-described independents say they are less likely to vote for him because of it.
"The fact that only 17 percent of polled independent voters were supportive of the President's stance on gay marriage - and that 41 percent indicated they were less likely to vote for him as a result - may be some cause for concern with this crucial group," said Jeff Lambert, president and managing partner of public relations firm Lambert, Edwards & Associates. -- MLive

Do you believe that s-s marriage is far more important to Michigan voters than Obama's bailout of General Motors that resulted in saving thousands of GM jobs as well as the US automotive industry? GM came back with a strengthened company, more secure jobs in Detroit and GM repaid the federal bailout loan. Ask MI voters if they want jobs or an amendment to ban s-s marriage?

GM has yet to pay back its debt to the American taxpayer to the tune of some $28 (B)illion. Never mind the fact that fully 72% of the bailout went overseas in support of GM's global holdings. So Obama bailing out the American worker was just a residual effect of his real goal which was to bailout workers in Europe and Asia all on the backs of our grandchildren.

You forgot the part where Chrysler was bought by foreign company and the fact that GM has lost money for every Chevy Volt sold. And at a meager $20+ a share, how is that success?

Well the state did go Republican in 2010 so jobs would be on that list. I also suspect that since conservatives are values oriented, the people of that state had enough of Democrats imposing their values.
I saw on the news that every "job created" cost taxpayers around $800,000.
But to the point of this post, it appears The One has greatly overestimated his scope of influence.
