From the office of Rev. Sen Ruben Diaz:
You should know that the newly elected Senator David Storobin from Brooklyn has introduced his first piece of legislation, Senate Bill S7712-2011 to repeal gay marriage in New York State.
Senator Storobin was sworn into office two weeks ago after defeating New York City Councilman Lew Fidler in the closest election Brooklyn’s history has ever seen.
As the Senator who has taken the lead to oppose gay marriage in New York, I thank Senator Storobin for giving me the opportunity to join him as a co-sponsor to this historic and pending piece of legislation.
You should also know that so far – as of today – it is only Senator Storobin and me who support this legislation. It will be a difficult and uphill battle. Nonetheless, our struggle will continue as we work to get 30 more Senators to join us. We are not giving up.

It's always good when the first thing a newly elected official does is try to strip rights/benefits from the people he represents. I'm glad he's working on important, "historic" legislation...
This is a nice new start for New York and glad to see this. When the courts in MA imposed phony marriage on us the cowardly liberal lawmakers would not introduce legistation to repeal fake marriage.
two great americans.
Who cares what the divorced Reverend thinks about marriage?
"..has introduced his first piece of legislation, Senate Bill S7712-2011 to repeal gay marriage in New York State."
Thank you for your actions.
Thank you, Senators!
Just because something/something isn't perfect, does that mean that it/he isn't good?
The battle for our culture never ends, its just a long standing war. The question is simple, which moral view will prevail. We salute Senator Storobin and Senator Diaz.
Senator Diaz needs to come to the GOP. The Democrats clearly do not have his best interests at heart.
GZeus. why does the gays always have to do personal attacks. I've seen gay people attack me and other group members. I've seen them threaten to kill a little girl. Your side is sick and if you win it will be the end of humanity.
SW: The Reverend who could not make his own marriage work, is now trying to prevent me (someone he has never even met) from getting married. That’s a whole lot more personal, than stating a fact about his marital status. Also, the end of humanity? Really? SSM has been legal for over a decade and heterosexuals are still getting married and having children just the same. Thank you.
@GZeus,
He is not trying to prevent yo ufrom getting married; he is working to prevent you from redefining what a marriage is for everybody else.
The cat is out of the bag now. Could you please drop the rediculous pretense that this is about anything else but the mandating of public acceptance sexual depravity.
