Our President Brian Brown interviewed by MSNBC:
One year after New York lawmakers voted to make same-sex marriage legal in the state, opponents of gay marriage are pledging to unseat the Republicans whose support was key to the law's passage, saying they want to send a message to other legislators that there are “consequences” to their votes.
The National Organization for Marriage, which opposes gay marriage, says it is funneling $2 million into the state to oust three state senators who voted to support the legislation. All three, Sens. Roy McDonald, Stephen Saland and Mark Grisanti, are facing primary challenges. A fourth GOP senator, Jim Alesi, already has said he won’t seek a ninth term due to local opposition over his pro-gay marriage stance.
... Brian Brown, [President] of NOM, doesn't shy away from the fact his group is hoping to intimidate wavering lawmakers into opposing gay marriage.
“The message is clear, that supporting same-sex marriage is a losing issue, not a winning issue,” Brown told msnbc.com. “You could lose your career over supporting same-sex marriage.”
... "If we don’t get a vote this year, we’re going to work to get one next year. We’re not going away," Brown said. "I think it’s just wishful thinking to say that once you have same-sex marriage the fight’s over. It’s not."
... Toward that end, NOM has spent $400,000 on issue ads, billboards, automated calls and direct mail as well as made direct donations through its New York PAC. It is planning to spend another $1.6 million to try to unseat McDonald, Saland and Grisanti as a result of their gay marriage votes.

These guy embody the stereotypical corrupt politican. Pretending to support traditional marriage even taking money in some cases then changing sides. This is the reason for Americas current problems!!!
Out-of-state bullying to oust REPUBLICANS? Scathing New York Sunday Times article on this...Over 2,500 comments, and they're not pretty for NOM and your tactics. This just may backfire on you guys, and it's about time.
Davey,
When you say backfire do you mean that this tactic may continue to work? I can never tell with you guys because your full frontal assault on the English language really does a number on intent.
"If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything." Confucius
note: I can't seem to get these miscreants to bad-mouth Confucius with the same furor they use in their attacks against Christianity.
Good luck. I hope they all get booted, and I hope we get a referendum.

Honset of NOMBlog to publish this bit but very damaging admission.
@Paul Mc
It's not an admission as Brian never said his goal is to intimidate anyone. Look at who's publishing the article. MSNBC has never been kind to conservativism.
Davey
Out of state money for both elections and court cases has been a feature of the ssm movement from the beginning. Crying foul when the other side responds is hypocritical.
And these particular Republicans are the worst kind of politician. The kind who say they support your position, take your money and then betray you.
Amazing how legislators' treason of their constituents costs so much money (in a bad economy) to correct. Many politicians believe they are liked just because they have some charisma, and shake lots of hands. No. It is a job, and you do your job, or else.
Ha! Davey believes the number of comments under an article means something. It could be one comment offended someone else and started a whole series of back-and-forth replies. Obviously, those who have something to gain in the issue and favor the article (biased) will be much more active and vociferous writing comments under the article! What does it prove? How about votes. What do votes prove?
The fight for equality is also not going away.
