The effort is ongoing. To date we were able to turn a historically Democrat legislature over to Republican for the first time in twenty years and now we have to go back and remind our public servants who it is they are supposed to serve.

It is a lot like raising a puppy. In time that little fellow will come to understand who is in charge and what is expected of it in order to keep its place at the dinner table.

In a statement issue by Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, said, ”Our daughter Mary and her long time partner, Heather Poe, were married today in Washington, DC. Mary and Heather have been in a committed relationship for many years, and we are delighted that they were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have that relationship recognized.”

I am very proud that a traditional Jew, Sen. David Storobin, is the sponsor of this new bill to defend traditional marriage in NY. He was elected due to overwhelming support by Orthodox Jewish voters in the otherwise Democratic section of Brooklyn that he represents. It's time to see more like him, as it is scandalous that so many "Jewish" politicians are in the forefront in the fight to redefine marriage and thereby attack the traditional family and the Biblical foundations of America. We need more like Sen. Storobin!

Prop 8 proponent and witness and director of the Institute for American Values David Blankenhorn, today, in a NYT editorial writes "the time has come for me , to accept gay marriage and emphasize the good that it can do," and explains why:

“For me, the most important is the equal dignity of homosexual love. I don’t believe that opposite-sex and same-sex relationships are the same, but I do believe, with growing numbers of Americans, that the time for denigrating or stigmatizing same-sex relationships is over. Whatever one’s definition of marriage, legally recognizing gay and lesbian couples and their children is a victory for basic fairness.”
