NOM's Goddard: Pacquiao Packs a Punch for Traditional Marriage

Damian Goddard is the spokesman for NOM's Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance, and writes in LifeSiteNews:

"...Shortly after his being expelled from The Grove, Pacquiao issued the following statement. “I am against gay marriage, but I’m not condemning gays. I have family - a cousin - who’s gay, and friends too. I’m just against gay marriage… To the gay community, I apologize. My favorite verse is ‘Love one another as you love yourself. Love your neighbor.’ So I love everybody!”

It’s one thing to say you are Christian. It is quite another to actually pick up your cross and follow Him; even when it comes to having to tell people things they don’t want to hear. Things like, marriage is the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others.

On June 9th, Pacquiao will step into the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to defend his WBO Welterweight title. While Timothy Bradley’s got nothing on the forces attempting to destroy marriage, it is clear that Manny Pacquiao is up for the fight. On both fronts. And the world is watching."

There is frankly never reason for anyone to apologize to "the gay community",which exists solely to reinforce the tendencies toward misbehavior and against feeling responsibility to avoid misbehavior of those who unite under that banner...the only communication with "the gay community" per se should be implacable demands that it disband.

If there is any story pertinent to the mission of the Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance, it is Manny’s. What an accomplished young man.

I'm going to go over and bang my head against a wall here in response of Manny's comments. Though the real head banging is due to Louis' deranged comments.

Hmm. A guy calls for gays to be put to death and you call him Christlike. Innaresting.

As for Louis E., if becoming Christian means I'd have to consort w/ the likes of you, forget it.

Greg: Funny, no one is charged with the death penalty. You are misinformed by some -idiot- in some Press release. Get real. Keep reading and informing yourself. As to Louis E., he has a right to his opinion, just as you do; but he's not a professed Christian, nor a Republican. But if you are brain-washed in your circles, don't expect us to be similarly. At least our circle believes there is hope. Your circle will chastise you for thinking there is hope. I really wonder what they do about the so-called bi-sexual. . . They are like a yo-yo, proving again and again there's hope, and it is simply a reversible behavior.

Just goes to show it takes courage to speak your faith. Guess he doesn't have the same courage to speak against divorce, which is just as much against what his religion teaches. Wonder if he supports use of birth control.

    The hypocrisy.

    Carlos,

The Alinsky method of changinging the subject when faced with subject matter that paints your depravity in a negative light has lost that fresh-new feel. It is time for you fellas to replace that stale and dusty tactic with something your apponents do not expect.

Here's a hot-tip for ya: why don't you folks try honesty for a change...?

@Randy E King Marriage licenses are issued by the state, not the church. No religion is necessary for a marriage to be legal, valid or recognized.

    Skooter,

How does changing the subject help you...?

Are you claiming the Alinsky method is, in fact, a religion; if so, are you finally coming to terms with the fact that your politics are governed by your religion and not the laws of nature?

Carlos: Divorce is not prohibited by the Christian religion, specially within a democracy. You get one point taken off for that error. Christianity does not prohibit birth control, in fact the Christian norms addresses birth 'control' and not necessarily with pills. What Christianity considers unethical/stupid is lack of family planning, and the destruction of one's own fetuses. Another point taken off. You didn't do well in your report. Two errors out of 2 :( Try to think before you write. Sometimes that helps.

Just making a poit that people use expression of religious freedom to their own purpose, picking and choosing what they want.

And for those of you misguided divorce is a sin and birth control is unaceptable.
