HRC, Which Believes Moms are Optional, Calls on Moms to Condemn Organization Dedicated to Arguing Moms are Irreplaceable

Yesterday was, of course, Mother's Day, and the Human Rights Campaign decided to "celebrate" it by calling on mothers across the country to "unite" against NOM by uploading this photo to their Facebook profile:

HRC also gave 10 reasons for why they think Moms should unite against NOM, but I'd like to give you just the personal reason I support NOM: Because I am so grateful to have been raised by mom and know from that experience how she loves me the way only a mom can.

Gay marriage -- and HRC -- deny that a mother's love is unique and special. Why on earth would moms, who know how much their kids need them, want to support an organization like HRC which is dedicated to the idea that moms are replaceable and dispensable. Talk about a paradox.

Anyway, a very happy belated mother's day to all the moms across America -- especially the 500,000 or so moms (by my rough guess) who voted to protect marriage between a man and a woman last week in North Carolina! You rock!

So many on the left don't have a clue (not offense intended for our liberal marriage supporters). Planned Parenthood uses Mother's Day as a fundraising tool, and HRC talks about why moms should unite against NOM.

    Priceless.

The Human Rights Campaign celebrating Mother's Day? The HRC is a walking oxymoron.

The Human Rights Campaign is an oxymoron headed by morons. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became as fools." This Mom supports NOM.

    Another NOM censored post.

No link in this article, no surprise. Here is what the HRC had to say:

"NOM is a rabidly anti-LGBT organization propagating a homophobic agenda that endangers the rights of all American families."

The HRC never brought up parenting. Here's the link

Every individual is irreplaceable. *You* are the ones who act like people are interchangeable.

And yeah, you work to harm mothers, fathers, and children; of course there are moms who want to thwart you.

    @Ash,

I think it's YOU, who doesn't have a clue. Pretty much every gay and lesbian person has a mom, who wants full equality for her children. Did you think we were hatched?

Is NOM capable of telling the truth. NEVER ONCE DID HRC say anything like " moms are optional, yet goes after NOM for affirming that a mother's love is unique and special." You are such INTENSELY stinking LIARS. And this is from a straight Christians who HATES manipulation and lies. And you can quote me directly on that IF you do it accurately. NOTHING you ever post is pure truth. NOTHING.

John Colgan responds true to form and tears down strawman (as if anyone claimed that gays and lesbians don't have mothers).

Gay and lesbian adults have mothers who want marriage redefined, so that's how the issue should be viewed. After all, the world revolves around gay and lesbian adults.

But marriage supporters view the issue from the standpoint of children, who, in a world created by SSMers, should not want nor expect to be raised by a mother or father.

We also look at it from standpoint of the vast majority of mothers (whose children do not belong to the LGBT special interest group) who are told that there is nothing unique about their love and care. Any constellation of adults who are sexually attracted to each other constitute equally desirable arrangements for the rearing of children--whether or not they involve a mother.

I love how we are all supposed to play dumb and pretend that this is not a core tenet of the ssm movement, simply because HRC supposedly didn't say "moms are optional" in one particular document.

Planned Parenthood might not have mentioned abortion in its fund-raising e-mails. But we know what the organization does and stands for. Knowing this, many people found the idea of using Mother's Day as a fund-raising tool cruelly ironic.

Marriage supporters find the use of Mothers Day by HRC cruelly ironic. That's life.

I hope the NOM Blog calls out the beliefs of the ssm movement even more so on Father's Day! With Obama's recent endorsement of ssm, we can all discuss why he hasn't spoken on the importance of fatherhood since around 2008. I'm thinking it's because some of his wealthy donors believe that fathers are optional. It should make for an interesting discussion. ;)

HRC is fearful of moms since we oppose the rights of the child treaty. We do not want some government organization telling us how to parent.
Yes I am very against HRC.

"Gays & lesbians" don't "pretty much" have a mom, they all have a mom, and a dad, too, and both are equally responsible for the care and upbringing of their offspring. Only marriage can guarantee that accountability is met; no SSM can ever ensure that. Kids missing a mom or dad don't get equal parenting as those w/ both. Just a natural consequence of biology. It's not that single parents don't love their kids, but two "dads" can't replace 1mom, & vice versa.

I LOVE when HRC focuses on NOM like this. It's based on fear because NOM is making the types of inroads that the perverts didn't think was possible.
