Mitt Romney said:
"I do not favor marriage between people of the same gender and I don't favor civil unions if they are identical to marriage other then by name. My view is that domestic partnership benefits, hospital visitation rights and the like are appropriate but that the others are not."

OK.
It's a start.
C'mon Mitt show some enthusiasm and courage in those convictions. I remember you as the Governor of my state and how you fought for marriage as it should be.
You fought the courts decision and fought for giving us we the people the right to vote on this matter.
Mitt will be elected POTUS in November.
Romney is a weak candidate. He doesn't speak with conviction nor passion. This is why the GOP tried to go for Gingrich, Perry, Bachman, Cain and Santorum. That and they were vastly more conservative than Romney.
He needs to get fired up.
Unfortunately "domestic partnership benefits" are not ok - they are the camel's nose under the tent. Domestic partnership arrangements undermine marriage by permitting an alternative to which the benefits of marriage can be added gradually.
The more varieties of "marriage" that exist, the less protection there is for women and children. The purpose of marriage is to establish a legal bond between father and children. Multiple definitions of "marriage" undermine that purpose.
A guy who's family fled the United States so they can have more than one wife is your "defender" of "traditional" marriage? Good luck with that.
Yes - Mitt - we are with you.
We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

So Obama flip flops again. Four years ago he was for traditional marriage and was against gay marriages; now in order to win votes, he says he has evolved. What is he, a butterfly? Thanks Mitt for standing up and not flip-flopping on this issue. And hopefully, this will be brought up in the debates when the time comes and let's get Obama out of the White House and into the nearest IHOP since he likes to flip pancakes.
So, Yoshi, using your yardstick as a standard, what choices made by your ancestors should we hold you responsible for?
