Cardinal Biffi's new essay in a book "The Inconvenient Memoirs" points out the ways in which an "aggressive ideology" is shattering the once-Christian west and increasingly silencing the voice of Christians. But to those who argue for the inevitability of the victory of this new ideology, he says, fear not, "We are with the Lord of History."

Ideology is one thing. Faith and conscience are another. An ideology which conflicts with our faith and conscience in spiritually unacceptable.
Chritianity has been around for two millenia. The idea of homosexual "marriage" is a newcomer. Like many other ideas which have come and gone, so too the idea of homosexual "marriage" will pass away as it is not rooted in spiritual Truth.
