At least this time it is not at a high school event (warning: extremely graphic language:)

Pretty funny, and even Savage knows he's being ridiculous.

The Pope would destroy this guy in a debate about marriage. It's so easy to make your opponent look silly when he's not there, big, tough-guy-who-curses-a-lot, Savage.

The same sort of stand-up could be done over those who believe in so-called SS"M." :

"Gay couples think that they are JUST LIKE straight couples. Have they ever taken off their clothes and looked at one another? Remember that song from Sesame Street? "One of these things is not like the other thing, one of these things does not belong!" Hey! Loook! The one couple has two penises! And the other couple only has one penis! So the one couple is equipped to have a sword fight, and the other couple, well they'll have to find out some other way to fight I guess...." Bah-rump-bum!

As a Roman Catholic I am offended that the Pope would suggest SSM would be a threat to civilization. If anything, it will only strength civilization.

Carlos: You are a troll, certainly. Roman Catholics believe what the Church teaches, trolls do not.

Yes, Carlos, even the Pope knows the earth is not the center of the universe.

Really the pope? You know the left is getting desparate when they disparage the holiest man in the world. The pope is essentially the messenger of God and to attack him for being "homophobic" or oppressive/anti-gay is like saying Hitler was a conservative.

This just shows Dan Savage has no real arguments for his cause and his only purpose in this life is to make others feel worse than he does.

Rick - Yes, I'm a troll just like all the other Roman Catholics that:

    - Get divorced
    - Use birth control
    - Comitt Adultery
    - Don't go to church
    - Judge others

And the list goes on. Misery loves company

Shame on Elmhurst College for even having this scum give a talk on campus. I would encourage NOM supporters in Illinois to have nothing to do with this college.

Zack, really? "holiest man in the world" and "the messenger of God"?

NOM also has Latter-Day Saint members who regard Thomas S. Monson as a rather important religious figure, perhaps even more than the Pope, although generally they wouldn't be so impolite as to say so.

Overcame, I happen to think my boyfriend and I are no different than any other infertile straight couple. :-p

Unlike you, some of us have no issues with who we are, accept who we are, and make loving, committed spouses.

One day you'll see Exodus for the joke that it is and realize that you haven't "overcame" anything. You merely suppressed.

    Layne,

The courts have already addressed your lame argument and noted that it amounted to "nothing more than a theoretical abnormality that has aboslutley no effect on the historic rational for marriage; procreation."

Equating who you are with what you do is the calling card of the elitest.

The pope is a nobody who dresses funny. Sorry, any man who actively hides child molesters and was a Nazi sympathizer is a big, fat zero.

    Layne -

It really irks you guys that a man can actually give up his homosexual inclinations completely, doesn't it? And you always have to reinforce how proud you are and how you accept who you are, like that character Pat from SNL. Hey, you wanna accept that, good on ya.

And I got news for ya, if you and your best buddy think that you are the same as any infertile male-female couple, you have some big denial issues.

Lol "denial" -- that's cute coming from someone who "prayed away the gay".

And self-proclaimed "ex-gays" don't irk us. They entertain us. Because we know you're all delusional.

Alan Chambers and John Smid, both heavy-hitters at Exodus, are both on record stating: a) They're still attracted to guys; b) They've never seen ONE gay man (out of thousands) successfully turn straight.

These people think the gay can be cured yet they can't even cure themselves??

Overcame SSA - Good for you giving up your homosexual inclinations, if that is what you wanted more power to you.

However, giving this up it is not for everyone and should not be foreced on anyone.

    Layne,

What exactly is "Gay" about your proclivity?

If you truly believed in what you were preaching you would not be working this hard to convince everybody that your depravity was this mythical creature from antiquity; as though sexual depravity was the proverbial Unicorn.

Orwell's '1984' was not an instuctions manual numbnuts!

As an atheist, one of my favorite things is watching a smart guy like Savage mock the absurdity of religion.

As a believer, one of my most amusing things is watching an atheist call Savage a "smart guy" :-)

I remember when I was a young college man, thought I was so smart, knew it all and that's when I first started questioning religion. It wasn't until my thirties when I had actually become wise that I realized how important religion is, and that it takes wisdom for a smart person to embrace religion. Those who continue to reject it are not so bright.

It's very ironic, in a sad kina way, that Dan Savage really epitomizes everything that he claims to be against.
Hatred, intolerance, malice, bigotry, ignorance...all of these make up Dan Savage and the sad soul he has become.

If you use your ridiculous religion as a weapon against others, expect it to be ridiculed. It's actually quite simple.

    Dan Savage = walking contradiction.

Remember the Starburst commercials featuring the Scotch-Korean? Well, here's a contradiction: Dan Savage is an anti-bullying bully. He makes no sense -- and neither does his "Savage Love" sex column.
