DumpStarbucks.com: Bob Vander Plaats Drinks His Last Cup of Starbucks

From a recent update by the head of the Iowa Family Leader, Bob Vander Plaats:

Our friends at the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) are urging customers across the globe to "Dump Starbucks" because the company has taken a corporate-wide position that the definition of marriage between one man and one woman should be eliminated and that so-called same-sex marriage should become equally normal.

On January 24th, 2012, Starbucks issued a memorandum declaring that a bill in the state of Washington to legalize so called same-s*x marriage is "core to who we are and what we value as a company".

A portion of every cup of coffee purchased at a Starbucks goes to fund this corporate attack on marriage. If you would like more information about why NOM wants you to "dump Starbucks" or would like to sign the petition, click here.

Over 600,000 people have signed petitions of support for Starbucks. What is God's design for coffee drinkers? Certainly a good aroma and robust flavour and a tolerance of freedom and acceptance of all God's children and support for marriage equality. The boycott will not work. Talk to One MIllion Moms who abandoned their boycott of JC Penney's. Talk to Disney and Disney Parks who did not suffer when action groups announced a boycott for Gay Days at Disneyland and Disney's extension of benefits to all gay employees and their partners.

Shane, every customer, potential customer or past customer we educate about the issue is a win for NOM. Keep trying to discourage and dissuade. If it's so ineffective, why are you here trying to get us to stop? hm. GOOD QUESTION! ;-)

How is a failed boycott a "win" for NOM? NOM just keeps revealing how nutty and ineffective it is. I genuinely believe NOM has helped speed the acceptance of same-sex marriage more than any other single organization!

No one wants you to stop, TC. Please, by all means, keep acting foolish, so normal people can see how weird the anti-equality religionists are!

Every time you slap false labels on the National Organization for Marriage, the National Organization for Marriage wins.

"NOM has helped speed the acceptance of same-sex marriage more than any other single organization!"

More than half of the 50 states have rejected it. How does that stack up with your premise?

Exactly what I was gonna ask him. I would express my condolences to him, but he's a liberal, and liberal by definition has lost all sentient being upon the support of same-sex "marriage."

NOM was formed after most states amended their constitutions. Since NOM was formed, the tide of public opinion has turned against marriage discrimination. NOM lost New York, and had a huge loss in New Hampshire, despite all their threats and anger. The more Maggie Gallagher opens her mouth, the more the public seems to support equal legal rights for gays and lesbians!

Translation: "NOM was formed in 2007 with the rise of California Proposition 8, which prohibits marriage between gays and lesbians. Since NOM was formed, the tide of public opinion has turned in favor of marriage discrimination. NOM won in New York, and won big-time in New Hampshire, all despite the death threats, baseless complaints against them, and the recent hacking scandal brought on by the HRC. The more Maggie Gallagher opens her mouth, the less the public supports equal legal 'rights' for gays and lesbians."

Now THAT'S quality translation right there, brought to you by yours truly.

So Skooter you looked around and found a sign you didn't like at a gathering 'you say' is from NOM. A big "So What" to you. I could go around to any liberal rally for any dumb thing they're pushing and find a nutjob sign too. You want to register your support for all those gay pride parades where they are half naked, simulating sex acts and sport 6 foot giant phallic symbols on public streets where children can see them? Hopefully not. Grow up! There are crazies (and fake crazies from the other side) at every rally or assembly.
