Cameron Offers Plea to Britain's Christians: "I Hope We Won't Fall Out Too Much Over Gay Marriage"

Bloomberg:

David Cameron told Britain’s Christians he doesn’t want to fall out with them over plans to allow gay marriage, as he hailed a “Christian fightback” against attempts to ban crucifixes and public prayer.

... Cameron offered what he described as a “plea” to the assembled churchmen. “I hope we won’t fall out too much over gay marriage,” he said. “There’ll be some strong arguments and some strong words.”

... Guests at today’s reception told the prime minister after his speech he was wrong to be looking at the issue, arguing that the legal definition of marriage should remain a union between a man and a woman. Cameron had sought to reassure his audience that his proposals would “change what happens in a register office, not what happens in a church.”

He also says, "“The values of the Bible, the values of Christianity are the values that we need.” But apparently that doesn't include Christian family or sexual values. Cameron is jsut another politician talking out both sides of his mouth.

“I hope we won’t fall out too much over gay marriage,”

    Translation:

I hope my previously stated position on this topic will not lead to my downfall.

Cameron had sought to reassure his audience that his proposals would “change what happens in a register office, not what happens in a church.”

Before he puts too much credence in that statement, he better brush up on what is happening in Canada.

And that's why we need another word for the man-woman union! So that Pastors and Priest might say without any prejudice or legal conflict, "sorry but we do not perform marriages here". What can I say... they have taken our word... but the reality of the unique man-woman union can not be changed.

And I know you don't need any more bad news, but when it rains it gets muddy, and the stinking sewers come up to flood the streets. Do not count on the European Court to give you any true satisfaction. They are simply underlining the fact that the two women are in an unjust position and that they should be allowed to get married. They are saying, the laws need to be changed. The European government is nothing but bad news on these subjects. In this case they are like Obama saying he believes a marriage is between a man and a women. Save your breath, the whole lot of you! And as for gay Paris... The French Presidential election is in 5 weeks or so. Lets hope the Right wins, which is very uncertain. For if the Left party wins – gay marriage will be the first law that they pass. And before the end of the year Priests at the American Cathedral in Paris will preforming such unions the way MacDonalds puts out hamburgers. And the Pastors at the American Church in Paris will be no doubt be quickly joining them. Its a big money making business, its stays in harmony with the legal system; and more than all else – Jesus is Love don't you know! It will bring a smile to his face. I mean what do you think he died for. And a Happy Easter to ya. And these polluted streets are going to make me sick to my stomach!
What does it all mean? I don't know, except that it makes our fight, and the importance of clarity in this situation only more valuable and needed. For we are not fighting first for laws. We our fighting for the children, and for Truth to be told.
