Can a mother claim discrimination, as part of a historically disadvantaged group -- (less today, now that women are no longer disenfranchised) -- if the state (reflecting societal values) refuses to consider her for a fatherhood award?
Am I a hateful bigot if I believe that fatherhood awards are only for fathers and that fathers must be men?
Might a biased judge in San Francisco rule that the only reason people think that women aren't as good as men at fatherhood, is that they harbor ill will toward women.
Exactly - i totally agree George - this whole issue is mind-boggling: a large minority of people cannot even tell that gender is important! But still I am confident that if we keep educating people in our own spheres of influence on the common sense basics we can turn this madness around. God bless you!
