In response to Judge Walker’s ruling in the Prop 8 cases, the National Organization for Marriage has launched a new radio ad campaign airing in radio markets across the country. The new ad, entitled “San Francisco Values?”, highlights the impact of Judge Walker’s ruling not only in running roughshod over the voters of California, but also in jeopardizing the marriage laws of 44 other states.
TEXT:
San Francisco is unique, but should their values be imposed on the rest of America?
A gay San Francisco federal judge has ruled that marriage between one man and one woman is discriminatory and unconstitutional. His ruling could eventually impose gay marriage on every state in America. This ruling is crazy and scary. The judge claims as so-called “fact” and that children don’t need a mom and a dad, and that parental gender is irrelevant to child development. He says that men and women have exactly the same roles in a marriage. He actually ruled that marriage as the union of man and a woman is just an artifact of a time that is past, and he slams people of faith by saying religious beliefs harm gays and lesbians.
America doesn’t have to accept San Francisco’s values.
Join the National Organization for Marriage at TwoMillionforMarriage.com to preserve marriage as a union of one man and one woman. Time is short to save traditional marriage. Join us at TwoMillionforMarriage.com.

The oligarchs, both in business and government, that run the US have been increasingly pushing same sex marriage (SSM) in recent years. They do not want the people to decide as they plan on deciding for the people. It amounts to preventing the people from acting to protect themselves and their children from what the people strongly believe to be harmful influences. Those who are convinced they are homosexual have the option of moving to other states. Those who are convinced that SSM is harmful and unhealthy and negatively impacts a community are given no options as efforts are made to legalize SSM nationally.
I worry that the oligarchs support SSM because they realize that it will lead to much higher rates of lesbianism and female separatism and thus will prove very divisive for the common people, making it far more difficult for them to develop the group cohesion necessary to effectively resist the coming fascist state. Without the support of the women, the men will not have the enthusiasm or determination to risk their lives to oppose the fascist state, and in history women have never been known to engage in violent rebellion in large numbers. Also, given the weak position the common men will be in, many will likely be enticed by the rewards of power and social status to choose to become the muscle of the police state.
This tragedy is unfolding before our eyes like a slow motion train wreck.
I totally agree with John. We are in the last days and every year this world gets more infested with Satan. We do need however, to remember God is in control and will let this evil go on for only so much longer before he ends it. What right do the homosexuals have to push their lifestyle down our throats and think about our children and grandchildren. What will it be like for them. Our government needs to get back to the important things and that is God is our maker and he made man/woman to procreate. We are going to way of Sodom and Gomorrah and God help those who continue to disobey God and his laws.
History seems to repeat itself, the discrimination, bigotry and hatred towards Christians is appalling. Christians harming the practice of homosexuality, as Walker states per the video above? Really? What is happening to this country?
Jakes: the country is being hijacked by a bunch of Christian extremists, full of homophobia and hatred. That's what's happening to this country.
Perhaps if Christians were a bit more open-minded and tolerant, they wouldn't feel to hated in the world today. Perhaps they should ask themselves why they feel persecuted. They should reflect on why, so many people, from so many quarters, are treating Christians of bigots. Maybe, just maybe, there is an ounce of truth in these charges?
Oh it's sooooo easy to play the victim on that one. Poor Christians feeling persecuted. Bouhouhouhouhouhou really.
Well, guess what? Christians are persecuting gays and lesbians in this country. And gays and lesbians will simply not stand back and be insulted. We are ready and prepared to fight back, for as long as it is needed.
Christians do not have a monopoly in this country. The country is lay, the constitution clearly mentions the separation of church and state. If Christians simply understood that, and did not constantly sought to meddle into politics (under false pretenses and prejudices, at that), they wouldn't be persecuted.
Gays and lesbians are fighting for our civil rights, which are long due to us. Whether Christians feel persecuted by our rightful claims is really none of our concern. The fight must go on.
Stop the persecutions against gays and lesbians and there will be no "persecutions" (whatever...) against Christians.
Then again, playing the victim may be a useful tactic... Good try though. We'll be there to make sure the truth prevails.
I like the ad keep up the great work.
God's speed and smooth sailing until next time.
Standing up to intolerance and bigotry is not itself an act of intolerance or bigotry.
Homosexuality has always been and always be a crime against man. Homosexuals are not born that way, but through their sexual urges decide for themselves to lead an immoral lifestyle. Just because society has accepted them doesn't mean we have to accept their sins. If more and more people grew up in a small town developed the urge to have sex with horses and then it lead to millions of other people developing the urge to have sex with horses, does that mean some day we should pass a law to allow horse lovers to marry their horses? Marriage is a religious rite between a man and a woman and no homosexual could ever convince me otherwise. It is not being hateful or bigoted, it is just being moral and honest.
Christian (believer and follower of Jesus Christ)???
CONSULT THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD - YOUR HOLY BIBLE !!!
Non-Christian??? Study ALL of human history. Just exactly what happened EVERY SINGLE TIME that morality slides into the sewer???
John, very interesting comment. I read a story years ago about why France fell so fast against the onslaught of Hitler's Germany, and it had to do with the number of broken families in France at that time. The men were out for themselves. Their families did not matter enough to them to fight for their families or their country.
These are the times when people who have real faith are going to be tested. In recent times we have not had the kind of persecutions that are now being leveled at the Christian Churches. We can read the Gospels and hear the truth being stated to us directly by Christ. But just as He said, " if they hate you remember they hated me first (John15:18). WE do not hate any one for their orientation. We only uphold the words of God and honor marriage as what He ordained. The sources of hatred are from our accusers.
Kathy: " the constitution clearly mentions the separation of church and state." Um, no it doesn't. I suggest actually reading it.
Our declaration of independance does mention that our rights come from God, not the government. So unless you are willing to give God his due for at least being the author of human rights, then it's hard to make any kind of argument defending gay marriage from an american foundational point of view.
Christians are being persecuted, being harrassed and punished for refusing to accept homosexual behavior as normal is like being thrown to the lions for refusing to cast insence before the pagan gods of rome. Your own comments are evidence of this persecution, by calling them hateful and bigots simply for refusing to accept homosexual behavior.
Christians are NOT being persecuted, and they don't have to accept anything, but they MAY NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST OTHERS.
Stop doing that, and your life will be exactly as it was before. No one is coming after you, no one is trying to force same sex marriage into your homes or houses of worship. Get over it, accept that there are other people than just YOU in this country, grow up and learn to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.
Love. What a concept.
In fact, the Declaration of Independence as our initial founding document declares that those rights come from God, or Nature's God. Jefferson and other Enlightenment thinkers saw in nature God's means of sharing his original way with man. It was in nature that they saw the pattern, or what the stoics called the Word (logos). When we look at nature we see a pattern of pluses and minuses that are attracted to each other, all the way from atomic to animal levels. In Asia this is known as yang/yin relationship; in the West male and female. In nature and in human history we see the natural order of life: men are made for women and visa versa.
The homosexual community says that two gays can raise children as well as a heterosexual couple. This argument misses the point that very few gays are raising children.
To estimate the percentage of gays that are raising children, we can take the census figures of gays with children (600,000) and divide it by the estimated 10% of the population that is gay (30 million). The result is that the number of gays raising children is around 2%.
An Oct 2009 NY Times article stated that gays can expect to get a $47k to $400k advantage over their lifetime if they can get married.
If we take an average of $200k, the 18,000 that were married in California before prop 8 is going to result in $3.6 billion being shifted to the gay community.
This is money that was meant to be for families to help them raise their children.
When the courts ask what damage gay marriage would cause heterosexual marriage this is the answer - there will be a very significant monetary shift from families with children to gays that are in most cases not raising children at all.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." is what the Constitution says. Chris is right. The phrase "separation of church and state" isn't in the Constitution any more than the term homosexuality was in the Bible until recently. Separation of church and state was mentioned by Thomas Jefferson in letters to a group of nervous Baptists, where he said that that wall of separation was as much to protect government as it was to protect the free practice of their religion.
Actually, Chris and Bruce, check this out: "The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from various documents of several of the Founders of the United States. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." (Wikipedia)
From this, several things can be inferred:
1- The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle.
2- You can't make laws based on any kind of religion, or religious principles.
3- The constitution makes sure that no one is harmed, in his/her practice of a religion, by laws that may be passed. This is the freedom of religion that is apparently under duress here.
HOWEVER! The free PRACTICE of religion is not prevented by gay marriage.
If gays and lesbians marry, Christians will still be able to go to church, to be religious, to hold whatever views they want, at will.
The every day practice of religious people who wish to go to church or who want to lead their lives according to any religious principles will be little affected by gay marriage. Parents will still be able to teach whatever they want to their children, even if schools will be able to present a wide-ranging views of families. But then again, it would be unconstitutional to present in schools ONLY gay families, to present them as the only possible model. But to present gay families as ONE model among many (traditional, single-mom, single dad, reconstituted, etc) is certainly not discriminatory to anyone.
So THIS is what the constitution really says.
Love is not merely acceptance, but discernment.
God may be pure love, but He is without sin. We cannot love without discernment. Since we are not pure as God, we must identify holiness and sin within ourselves. There are no shortcuts: one being that we (humans) practice "tolerance" of everyone is mistaken, because it assumes perfect discernment and holiness, which we do not have. God always wants us to love more, but not pretend that we are Him. He knows we are lying when we accept any behavior and call it "love" and "tolerance".
Christians have been harmed because in MA the Catholic Services can no longer provide adoption unless they also provide them for gay couples. This has always been sinful to Catholicism and they had to shut down because they follow this doctrine - THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY FOR 2 THOUSAND YEARS. This does affect Christians!! And, teaching children that homosexual relationships are NORMAL is against the NATURAL LAW. The Constitution has been twisted by judges that want to make things THEIR WAY. They come up with laws that aren't found in our Constitution. OUR LAWS CAME FROM THE 10 COMMANDMENTS that are engraved on the judicial buildings in Washington, D.C. For that person who says they don't care who gets harmed, I am very sorry you feel that way. We don't hate you, we have always believed that committing homosexual behavior is sinful. Don't think we don't want just same-sex marriage, we also believe that fornication and adultery is sinful, too. Unfortunately, we can't stop the crude immorality that pervades our society. Children have always done best with a biological mother and biological father. This is what it is all about. We don't want marriage to be redefined. This is going to hurt society. Just like no-fault divorce is hurting marriage. Now that some would like to keep procreation out of marriage, we have let our society be led astray from the foundation of civilization. Look at history, folks. God bless all to come to the TRUTH!
The intent of the founding fathers was to create freedom OF religion. Not freedom FROM religion. It was clear to most people back then that our dependance should be on God. The original settlers left England in order to worship God without government interference. Our way of life was developed from religious principles.
I am now 60 years old and I am amazed that in my lifetime I would see a time when people would be called bigots for not accepting gay marriage. We sure have come a long way.
Some people think that being progressive is good in and of itself. The problem is that many are progressing down to hell.
Maybe if the Savior had been more open minded he would not have been crucified. If Jehovah had been more open minded he would not have killed all the first born and left the Israelites in Egypt (they wanted to return after a day anyway). If Adam was more open minded he would have ditched Eve, let her be thrown out and die while he lived forever in the garden as a child. OH! I just had a thought. Is open mindedness kinda like "selfishness" in the newspeak of today? I said NEWSPEAK, as in George Orwell.
Hay Leila, do you know what the difference between freedom of worship and freedom of religion is? a good example is Saudia Arabia. They have freedom of worship, but no freedom of religion. There is only one religion there and you are free to worship, but other forms of worship (religions) that don't agree with their worship are not allowed. The "GAY" agenda is to stomp out the offensive parts of religion and you are free to worship according to how it will please Gay politics. It is not rocket science, or complicated political science to see the obvious.
If we lose traditional marriage... we also lose religious freedom. It's that simple. Many people are not seeing what is under the tip of a very big iceberg.
Homosexuality is one form of sexual deviance, there are apparently many forms. I compare it to obesity. You may be born with a tendency, but how out of hand it gets depends a whole lot on what you consume. It's a personal issue that needs to be dealt with personally and not foisted on Americans as a whole. It produces nothing of value to society and should not become the basic building block of society. Traditional marriage, on the contrary, produces the world's most valuable resource - people. That's what makes the traditional family the basic building block of society. That's Mom AND Dad, some angry judge can't just cut one of the parents out. This course definitely leads to the decline of a nation.
Let's try an experiment, maybe some homosexuals should go live on an island for about 20-50 yrs. and have to try to repopulate the land to about a 15% increase. If they do I will be more than happy to accept their views. Oops, I forgot it takes a man and a woman to do that.
Homosexuals have developed a tactic where they are NOW using anti-bullying school efforts in secondary schools to teach kids as young as 5 years old about homosexual behavior. They are sneaky and looking for ways to promote the homosexual agenda through gay marriage indoctrination and recruiting. Christians must stand up to these so called safe schools improvement policies where they contain a very serious hidden agenda.
Kids should learn that homosexuality is normal and that love between two people of the same sex is normal.
the original premise behind the founders was to prohibit the state from sanctioning one church over another. They did not want the state to sponsor a church through taxation to support "one church " . History also shows that they absolutely did believe in religion and its part in both private and societal life. I do not want to see gay marriage. Not because I hate gays. I do not. I view marriage as an institution of God, a sacrament. I have no problem with gays having a civil union that will afford them all the rights they are seeking. Call it semantics if you will, I don't care. If this is not good enough, then it would seem to be that there is another agenda. It would appear to me that the real agenda is to weaken the institution of marriage. I am old enough to remember a time when a family was one mom, one dad, lots of kids and much less of the problems we see today caused by the degradation of the family. Old fashioned, old standards, they worked for so long. Why are so many bent on destroying that?
The tactic of the homosexual agenda is to say that they also have a right to see marriage as a institution of God where they also play a so called equal part in belief. Another tactic is to demand evidence that this or that same sex couple weakened the institution of marriage for the straight couple down the street. Even further they demand direct cause and effect evidence their relationships cause degradation of families. They are indeed a sneaky bunch in their tactics.
"Kids should learn that homosexuality is normal and that love between two people of the same sex is normal."
That's why I'm opposed to the government enforced redefinition of marriage. It will inevitably lead to the indoctrination of impressionable children with such propoganda and lies.
But ConservativeNY: love between two men or two women IS normal. Just like heterosexual love, homosexual love has never existed.
Refusing to see this are propaganda and lies.
Anyways, the comments on these blogs reek of bigotry and hatred. None of the arguments brought forth have even the slightest chance in court.
Love between two men or two women in the platonic sense can be considered normal. But the claim that homosexual sex is "normal" makes as much sense as saying that two screws or two nuts can be put together when a single nut and a single screw were made for each other.
And the sole purpose of the anus is for the excresion of wastes from the body. There is nothing about its design that indicates that it was meant to be used for sexual intercourse. To teach otherwise to children would be teaching lies and propoganda. I don't want them to be confused and messed up that way.
If you think about it it would be very strange if homosexuality were genetically based. The whole concept of evolution is that traits that increase the ability of an organism to send its genes into the future--via viable offspring--will wi...n out and traits that reduce the ability of an organism to create viable offspring will disappear. Yet other than massive genetic defects that cause death prior to reaching puberty what possible gene could be less likely to be passed on to the future than a "gay" gene? Prior to artificial insemination--ie the entire time that the human species has been evolving-- a truly homosexual human being would have no decedents. But with no children a homosexual man's "gay" gene would disappear.
Even if you assume a "bisexual" gene rather than a "gay" one there's significant problems. A bisexual would spend less of his time and energy pursuing a viable mate--ie a female--than a purely hetrosexual male. Hence any "bisexual" gene would be evolutionarily disadvantaged.
To take this a bit further according to purely secular thinking from an evolutionary perspective homosexuals are failures of the worst sort. It's only Christianity that teaches us that it's the content of our character not our genetic makeup that gives us value. Hence while secularism would, if it were honest and self consistent, teach that homosexuals are failures it's Christianity that declares that homosexuals are of the same value as heterosexuals because God loves both. Like so many aspects of the secular moral view declaring the worth of homosexuals is really a Christian view whose roots secularists choose to ignore.
agree fully with susan long, from day one crime has increased so bad and gotten worse because more people are bowing down to satan and evil, they have pushed God aside for to long just to have their own evil way. When and if they place God and his love first in their lives , im so afraid things are going to get much worse. Satan loves things that are not from God, good, love, protection, peace, faith, trust, friends, hope.
In America, there are two diametrically opposed religions which claim the monicker "Christianity". One seeks to follow the teachings of Christ by risking to love one's enemies, feed the poor, and embrace the disenfranchised. The other uses the name of Jesus to gain political power, while hating one's enemies, oppressing the poor, and ignoring the disenfranchised.
It isn't that Christians are so hatefilled and intolerant. It's that we follow the Word of God and He is very specific on the sin of homosexuality in several passages. If, as a homosexual who professes to be a Christian, then you are surely aware of the account of Sodom and Gommorrah in Genesis 19, where God destroyed the cities, and in 1 Corinthians 6, which condemns not only homosexuality, but other sexual sins also. Why do you condemn us to be intolerant when we have a point of view that is different than you and you are so very tolerant only if the point of view is the same as yours.
The Point that many are overlooking and that isn't being brought out into the open very much is that if a Pastor were to refuse to marry a Gay couple that pastor could have legal action taking against him or her. So people might say that our right to believe what we want isn't being affected but the truth is is that it very much is being affected. We as Christians WILL NOT stand by and blindly accept immorality in our churches!
To say something is wrong does not mean you don't love those who do it. A wise man once said "Love the sinner, hate the sin." I have gay friends and I respect them for the way they are. However, I cannot support them in their chosen lifestyle. I am no scriptorian, but I am familiar enough with the scriptures to remember a time when God destroyed two of the greatest cities of the ancient world because of homosexuality. In many other passages various men of God, holy prophets, declared such practice an abomination before God. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, therefore His definitions of "right" and "wrong" remain unchanged. All that has changed in our day is the arrogance of men to think that we know better than God how to take care of ourselves, or that we know better what is right and wrong. These days we try to define the terms "right" and "wrong" by a vote in government or other assemblies. Or we say that what is common must be right. So many people are gay today, so there must not be anything wrong with it. It was common in Sodom and Gomorrah, too, and look what happened to them.
Men are not born gay. It is a choice many do not realize they have made. God, in all His wisdom and perfect planning for His children, would not have made such a mistake. No one knows exactly why people seem to have homosexual tendencies almost from birth. It is very difficult indeed to change, but many are determined to change God rather than conform to His will. They try to find happiness without Him. That is not possible.
While our Christian beliefs include tolerance of others who may not believe as we do, it does not require us to teach those things to our children. We are expected by our Maker to teach correct principles. That is a fundamental part of all religions. The Constitution says that government doesn't have the power to make any laws regarding religion. If they required everyone to teach about sodomy in schools then that would be a major blow to the integrity of all religions. We believe the scriptures tell us what is correct, and no government has a right to require us to change our beliefs.
The issue here is that we Christians want to keep teaching our children correct principles according to our beliefs. We fear that the government will require us to change what we believe. That is not tolerance, it is indoctrination. Tolerance is to respect others despite their differences, not to teach us that what they do is right or acceptable.
Regardless of how you feel about Gay Marriage, this judges actions are a collection of major abuses of power. Why?
1) The judge is suppose to be neutral, how can a activist gay judge (yes a judge who actively is promoting and advocating gay rights) be neutral in judging a law that restricts the rights of a group he belongs to? He can't. He is legally required to recluse (i.e. let a different judge hear and decide this case)
2) He switched the burden of proof from the plaintiffs to the defendants. Again, another major abuse of power
3) He determined that only a limited number of the plaintiffs involved (and ones he knew would not appeal) could appeal the case. Again, he doesn't have the right to determine who can appeal this case, but he abused his power and did.
4) As per the Constitution of the United States, Judges can NOT write laws. He was writing laws. Again, another abuse of power
5) He also told the voters of California that they do not have the right to legislate sexual behaviors. I'm not talking about the right of people to privacy, but the right of society to regulate behaviors. Now all we have to do is get some Pedophile to take his ruling and say that it isn't fair to him that he can't have sex with young children. But this judge's logic and the acute lack of proof required by the special interests contesting this law, pedophiles will now to allowed to molest our kids, after all it isn't their fault they are pedophiles, they just have bad genes and they aren't responsible.
We need to attack how these bad judges abuse their power and hold them accountable to the people. I don't know how, but we do need to hold them accountable. But it isn't likely when you have a government of the lawyers for the lawyers and by the lawyers.
