Reader Poll Has NH Marriage Repeal in the Lead 56%-43%

Gay activists typically swamp these online polls once they are discovered but right now "Should New Hampshire Repeal Same-Sex Marriage?" is winning 56%-43%:

I'm from NH and I just checked the poll you quote and its 61% to 38% in favor of NOT repealing the gay marriage law. the link you gave was to the AmherstPatch a small local paper in Amherst,NH. This is not a scientific poll and is open to anyone whether they live in the state of NH or not. Your're doing your readers a disservice in quoting it.

Well, I think there is a rush to overturn thousands of years of what has held societies together. I don't see a place to vote, so I'll just say this!

Herb S: Like the NOMblog post says: 'Gay activists typically swamp these online polls', and it now has reversed results. Gay activists want more rights, and so have their volunteers always looking for un-scientific polls so they can twist them in their favor. it's a lot easier to be unscientific, but votes at the ballot box are much more difficult to fake out.

Polls in which respondents are self-selecting mean absolutely NOTHING. Anti-gay activists are just as likely to do the "swamping;" publishing this serves no purpose except to take a swipe at GLBT people.

Bruce, people who call themselves "GLBT" and refuse to acknowledge that there's no such thing as a person entitled to escape censure for engaging in same-sex sex deserve to be "swiped at" in terms of expressions of disapproval of their irrational attitude.

I note that a commenter at the Patch site (where repeal is now ahead with 62%) says NOM told him how to turn off cookies and voted forty times,I have voted once.

NOM and their supporters think polls are wonderful and accurate as long as the polls tell them what they want to hear. The other 99% of the polls are terribly, terribly wrong of course.

John B. re-read NOM's post, you are overlooking some important details in your blog....NOM was already credited that the source of some polls are not reliable, however....

John B.: I've never found NOM biased about any poll. Actually, it is the other way around. Same-sex civil marriage advocates only look at polls in their favor, with biased wording of questions. Polls don't tell the final story - that's my point. Yes, we like polls in our favor; but we like well worded polls more, no matter what the results are. After all, a poll is a limited samples, statistically speaking. Automated, computerized, poll calls are more reliable. A queer calling your home and asking: Do you hate us? Is probably going to get the answer he/she wants to hear. Check.

Unlike the polls in CA and Maine that predicted that SS"M" would be voted through.

Well, the poll has been Pharyngulaed. When us liberals see a stupid online poll (totally unscientific or meaningful), we pounce. Thanks for pointint this one out. Now is at 77% NO.

I can't imagine that the "live free or die" state (which seems more libertarian than conservative) will vote to repeal this. Since the sky hasn't fallen over the last two years since this law was passed, people probably won't see the sense in re-legislating it.

I think NOM forgets that whatever they do here is support of their cause, it's like feeding frenzy for the opposition... Notice the Poll mentioned here changed drastically after NOM's blog posted…

KAK1958,the existence of same-sex "marriage" IS "the sky falling".It has to end.

Hey NOM, I just wanted to tell you that we Canadians have yet to feel any negative effects from legalizing same sex marriage since 2005. Just saying.

Karen: You are ignorant of the effects of same-sex marriage legislation in Canada. Just beause you didn't experience an effect doesn't mean there was no effect on Canadians in general. Read the NOM blog about instances. Or, don't you really want to know? And how many same-sex couples have actually married? Get real.

...I live in Canada. Nobody really cares. I know one couple who have married and have adopted. Canadians have yet to see fire and brimstone rising up from the depths of hell because of allowing same sex marriage. Also, I refuse to let my opinion be swayed by a hate group.

@ Karen, FYI, most of NOM's supporters have been blogging on this site for awhile now, and stay well informed on the issues of redefining marriage...You won't see any white flags waving here surrendering to SSM...
