... Ros-Lehtinen was among 342 “yes” votes for the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. Now, she has become the 124th co-sponsor of the bill to repeal it.
... During the summer of 2008, Ros-Lehtinen told Miami gay Republicans that she opposed Florida’s Amendment 2, which passed the following November and banned gay marriages, civil unions and state-recognized domestic partnerships.
Later, she learned that daughter Amanda had come out as a transgender man named Rodrigo.

Then the conservative constitutents shouldn't vote for her. Problem solved. If all her other constituents are happy with her performance, then they should vote for her again. And we'll see who wins the next election. Isn't that simple?
I don't know what Ros-Lehtinen is talking about. Florida's marriage laws *already* reflect the principles of equality.
I have lived in the district my whole life and for the last couple decades we have had to put up with this awful representative who shows nothing but contempt for her constituents. Now she has taken these extreme radical positions as a further sign of arrogance. NOM really needs to help find a good alternative and this is a district which has strong family values, especially among the Cubans who are very religious. I voted for the democrat last election as a protest to this awful representative, now my family while not of the Christian religion has all decided to vote against her for this offensive attack on families.
Are there anti-SSM elected officials in her district willing to challenge her?
There are plenty in the district, a large part of the district is made up of Cubans who happen to be very religious, mostly Catholic and as a result have good family values. I hope NOM is making an effort to find a replacement rather than just publishing articles to stir people up and increase their fundraising. This is a detested representative who can easily be replaced with a more likable candidate who has good values and does not have contempt for their constituents.
Fredb,local people like you need to reach out to local anti-SSM pols to encourage a challenge to Ros-Lehtinen.
Louis, NOM is already spending a lot of effort trying to replace the New York senators after that horse already left the barn. They can at least spend some time preventing this problem before it starts and setting an example for others that try to act against the will of their constituents.
