Hi; just kind of stumbled across this page and organization. A few questions:

1) Did Ron Paul sign this pledge? He got 2nd in Ames, and I noticed he's not mentioned.

2) Did Sarah Palin sign this pledge? Or, is it only after an official announcement that people are invited to sign or not?

Louis E, the catholic church also taught that the earth was flat (and presecuted Galileo for suggesting otherwise), believed that the earth was the centre of the universe (and excommunicated Copernicus as a result), and in more recent history it collabarated with the Nazis and communists in eastern Europe, the Franco regime in Spain and the Galtieri regime in Argentina which was responsible for the "disaapearnce" of thousand of citizens. Catholicism has always been a "grass roots" religion and through the ages many brave catholics have stood up for THEIR religion against the leaders of the church when those leaders have been quite simply wrong.

No Badger, the overwhelming number of good and decent God fearing Christian Catholics know that marriage is one man and one woman. I meet many Catholics daily and know this to be true.
CatholicDad is a true God fearing Christian like the majority of Catholics and his views truly mirrors those of the majority of Catholics.
Look at Maine where the Catholic vote helped reverse SSM. How about Rhode Island and Maryland where the help of Catholics was one of the deciding factors in defeating SSM in those states.
Finally thanks to the homosexual war against the Catholic Charities and Knights of Columbus I am sure that more will come on board.

Badger,Catholicism teaches ONE definition of marriage and to the extent that you disagree with that definition you are no more Catholic than I am (though I do concede that on homosexuality the teachings of the Catholic Magisterium are entirely correct).

Voters have been waiting a long time for candidates who stand up for marriage and the other values we hold dear. With all the lying and backroom deals of the current administration many voters have become alienated from the political world.

I believe the current Republican presidential candidates will light a spark in the voters and renew their faith in the political process.

The article tries to equate the removal of homosexuality from the DSM with the ADDITION of pedophilia to the DSM. Obviously these are two completely different issues, both because one is a removal of an illness and one is the addition, but also because homosexuality and pedophilia should never be compared since one is practically rape and the other is a choice between consenting adults. Furthermore, what is wrong with adding pedophilia to the DSM as a mental illness? Should people condemn schizophrenics for acting absurdly when they are mentally wired to do so and lock them up in a jail cell instead of sending them to a mental health clinic for treatment? The same goes for pedophilia, there is a consistent body of research that suggest pedophilia is a mental illness and can/should be treated. Should perpetrators of pedophilic actsbepunished? Of course, but they should be punished in the same way that any other person with a mental illness would be. This particular email from NOM was particularly disturbing in the ease with which it glazed over the details and manipulated and preyed on the emotions of ordinary people who don't know any better than to fear something they don't fully understand like the field of psychology.

Sorry but Danklin was rightfully criticized for making it seem like Franken had set up the witness when he was actually dressing him down for presenting fraudulent material.
