Report: CNN in the Tank for SSM, Massive Bias in Issue Coverage

Paul Wilson at the Media Research Center reports:

A Culture and Media Institute analysis of 239 programs aired on CNN from the period June 15 to July 15 revealed that CNN quoted or interviewed nearly four times the number of gay-agenda supporters as critics.

... in addition to that 4-to-1 ratio of guests, CNN aired 41 stories in that month that featured only gay advocated, leaving out critics altogether. Just nine stories featured only critics to the exclusion of gay advocates.

... Two CNN correspondents were honest enough to admit that the networks were biased in favor of gay rights.

Howard Kurtz on his "Reliable Sources" show on July 3, acknowledged "the media's celebration - there really is no other word - of the gay marriage debate in New York."

On June 26, Kurtz asked CNN reporter Carl Crawford whether or not the "coverage has paid equal attention to both sides of the debate." Crawford replied that "I think the media has been kind of rallying behind the marriage equality movement. I think we're always prone to any civil rights movement. We like it. It's democratic to us, and that's just one of our soft spots."

Military personnel "fondly" refer to CNN as "Communist News Network," and/or "Chicken Noodle News." They are definitely part of the entertainment industry.

"They," of course, referring to CNN, not the military.

One wishes they were more astute in telling real from pretended "civil rights movements".

This really isn't a surprise. Look at the leftist ideological zealots they have working there.
The are shills and tools for the radical left and all their perverse and destructive agendas.

Yeah, and Faux News reports what about marriage equality? Hmmm...if you're looking for signs of media bias, I'd start with that outfit first. Fair and balanced my you-know-what.

Actually, as I scanned "Faux News" a couple days ago, they were joyously reporting on the new "marriages" in NY without one bit of negativity. So, from what I've seen at least, I'd say they are pretty much in sync with the rest of the mainstream media as far as this issue is concerned. Now as far as other issues, you may be right. I admit I don't watch Faux News a lot as I'm really not a fan of them anymore than any of the mainstream media outfits. So if those who watch it regularly can confidently say otherwise, I won't argue.

This is not surprising as CNN and MSNBC have been biased for many years. Mine as well renane them the Far Left/ Socialistic Propaganda channelss. CNN had only one honest and fair reporter worth viewing and that was Lou Dobbs since forced out due to political correctness. Don Lemon is an open homosexual and Anderson Cooper has that snobbish smierk eletist attitude when he reports the news.
It looks like the vast majority of Americans agree with me on this one and have noticed this. This is why Fox News cleans CNN and MSNBC's clock in the ratings. Notice @ 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 Fox has kept the same team as they win the ratings war. Meanwhile CNN is always changing personnel in an effort to improve upon their dismal ratings.

Remember folks, CNN was started by Ted Turner the self styled anti-Christian progressive.

If the media have a radical leftwing/socialist bias, then why do they also hype things that socialists hate, like trade agreements that ship jobs overseas?

Seems to me the media have an elite class bias, and it skews either right or left, depending on the issue.

One wishes they were more astute in telling real from pretended "civil rights movements".

The whole reason for this movement is so that gay people can feel better about themselves.

[The homosexualist fundamentalists] revealed their hand when the Massachusetts Senate certified a
question to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, asking if a
proposed bill that explicitly provides "eligible same-sex couples the
opportunity to obtain the benefits, protections, rights and
    responsibilities
afforded to opposite sex couples by the marriage laws
of the commonwealth, without entering into a marriage" and that
"spouses in a civil union shall have all the same benefits,
    protections, rights and responsibilities
under law as are granted to
    spouses in a marriage
". Opinions of the Justices to the Senate, 440
    Mass. 1201, 802 N.E.2d 565 (Mass. Sup. Jud. Ct. 2004). Several pro-gay
groups filed amici briefs arguing that civil unions are
unconstitutional despite the fact that the proposed bill explicitly
stated that "spouses in a civil union shall have all the same
benefits, protections, rights and responsibilities under law as are
granted to spouses in a marriage". In the GLAD brief, the GLAD
counsel admitted that "[t]he Goodridge plaintiffs understand the
Senate reads this Court’s declaration in Goodridge as limited to the
legal incidents of marriage rather than as
about access to marriage itself." GLAD Brief, Opinions of the Justices
to the Senate, at 11. And yet they called the civil union scheme
"separate and unequal " and a form of " segregation ", even though there
was no physical separation, Id. at 21, and claimed that the injury
caused by civil unions is denial of the "social recognition" of
marriage. Id. at 24 See also Civil Rights Brief in Opinions at 12
(claiming that the proposed bill is unconstitutional because civil
unions would "mark [same-sex couples] as inferior to their
    heterosexual counterparts
and diminish their status in the community"
regardless of whether they provided "the same benefits, protections,
    rights and responsibilities
under law as are granted to spouses in a
marriage") id. at 13 (claiming that civil unions "would not constitute
    equality, because their
relationships still would not be recognized by the rest of society as
    being as valued as heterosexual
    relationships.") (all emphases added)

I agree John Noe, @ 9:00 CNN is so desperate that rather than talk about the budget debate like they are doing on Fox, it is Pier Morgan with more Hollywood gossip.
Oh Dan: Both O'Reilly and Hannity are opposed to SSM.

"Because nobody SHOULD be happy for you,and our ideas will always be the only correct ones."

Louis, your ideas are simply wrong. They are based on lies and have only ever been fundamentally degrading. You derive them from slowly dying animus and archaic hostility towards gay men and women. When your ideas are left unchecked, they more often than not lead to violence and open hostility towards LGBT folks.

Ideas like yours - those that inspire violence and animus - are NEVER correct.

Sadly, SSM supporters are fighting God Himself. That's not going to go well. Jesus Christ personally defined marriage as being between one man and one woman in Matthew 19:4-6.
Also, interracial marriage was supported by God in Numbers 12:1-8.
Homosexuality is condemned in the NEW testament in Romans 1:18-32.

CNN and all of the liberal media are part of the problem. Very, very few news media companies broadcast the truth about the gay movement and ss"m".Orginizations such as NOM, and the likes, are a breath of fresh air in the stagnant stench of the liberal news media.

RJ,it is your views that are based on lies, and the best interests of "LGBT folks" will never lie with indulging same-sex attraction any more than those of alcoholics will involve drinking at will.
