ElectionWatch '12: Santorum Criticizes Rick Perry Over SSM Comments

NOM Chairman Maggie Gallagher in NRO's The Corner blog over the weekend:

Gov. Perry was at the Aspen Institute, that upscale gathering where great minds come to think together, when someone asked him about New York passing a gay marriage law.

According to a Des Moines Register reporter:

“Texas’s Republican Gov. Rick Perry on Friday said he’s “fine” with New York’s approval of gay marriage because such decisions should be left up to states.

That prompted a response from Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who tweeted overnight: “So Gov Perry, if a state wanted to allow polygamy or if they chose to deny heterosexuals the right to marry, would that be OK too?”

Oh impressive Santorum you finally figured out a way to get your name in print. Attack someone for following the Constitution & supporting 10th Amendment. There is no Constitutional authority for Marriage, Abortion, Education, etc to be national issues they are state issues. Santorum is a hypocrite they all holler restore the Constitution -yep as long as it works in their direction, minute it doesn't they join libs in shred the Constitution-Herman Cain is another GOP candidate that has shown his willingness to shred it. Geez & you people call these people conservatives? I call them big govt RINOS.

As much as I oppose SSM, I have to agree with the Texas governor on this one. Notice he said states rights. You know Texas gets it. There are differences between the states and they do compete. As long as Texas can exercise its states rights. New York can have the AIDS and higher health care costs while Texas attracts the Americans who believe in one man/ one woman marriage. Just have some more New Yorkers switch states and this will get attention real fast.
By the way did anyone notice the last Census? Texas the one man/one woman state picks up four additional House seats and electoral votes while New York loses two House seats and electoral votes.

The USA government owes the states a strict enforcement of DOMA.
