BREAKING: Sen. Lanza Says He Will Vote NO!

This is especially encouraging considering Senator Lanza was apparently the widely-rumored "32nd vote" for SSM:

Spokeswoman says Andrew Lanza of Staten Island, seen as a pivotal vote on #gaymarriage, will vote no. -- Thomas Kaplan of the NYTimes

Yes, it's very encouraging to see that both Senators Lanza and Ball are against it. Let's keep the heat of encouragement to vote in the proper direction (that is AGAINST same-sex marriage) Senators Grisanti and Saland.

It is difficult to see the lights going out across the country. Let's hope that enlightenment and freedom prevail against the tide. Protect marriage, the good, and the true.

Good for Sen. Lanza! But most important, for his constituency. We must encourage the others to do likewise, the people that voted them in need to be the ones that make this pivotal decision. Like SC Guy said, let's focus now on Grisanti and Saland, they need to hear from us.

Maggie keeps remind us that this wrongful piece of legislation is beatable. She is right, if we set out to do it instead of doing nothing, we can stop this. Fridays are always crucial people, they always count on us to not be paying attention!

Latest news, they don't have the votes.. SSM is dead.
A victory for marriage, and families.

I'm glad he'll vote no so his bigotry will be enshrined.

Equality will come to NY. And when it does it will double the number of gay Americans who can now marry. And with that DOMA will not stand.

Equality is very close for citizens of New York!!

The founding fathers were bigoted against this depravity; the mark of a true patriot. Those of you standing on the side of these miscreants are traitors to your nation.

I pray when the pendulum swings this horde has the courage to stand its ground.

Who are these people to redifine marriage-Republicans used to be for traditional values; now some are considering to rewrite marriage; they may as well join the Liberal party.

Apparently, the NY Senate has gone into a temporary recess (for 15 mins) and then they're voting on gay marriage. That's what I'm hearing. Apparently, this is it . . .

Any Republican voting for this is going to be doing Cuomo's and Obamas bidding, and they might as well drop the R next to them because the people will make sure they do.

I believe that the right thing will be done and traditional, REAL marriage will prevail. Let the gays go and find some other way to unify their relationships. Marriage must remain untouched by their depravity.

Believer - "God" doesn't have a say here and do you know why? Because your "God" doesn't not determine our laws. Yep, I know it's shocking. But humans do it all.

And equality has come to New York. Goodbye NOM!

Robbo, you are wrong about that. When man goes against God's laws, God will have the final say. You will see.
